Chinese nationals are informed that they’re able to book superiority service for their uk visa application (from overseas) but it’s provided by Vfs - a different company. I start hoping that home office gave me the wrong info - they always do give contradictory info
Decision on application from overseas are made by UK embassy not home office here i'd thought? So perhaps UK embassy in China has reinstated priority service to process application, not quite same can be applied with Home office here I guess...
When I applied my student visa in Beijing I paid the Priority Service fee during the Biometric appointment with VFS in order to get a decision in 10 days. They charged the Priority Service fee on behalf of the British Embassy in China. The Home Office and embassies might share the same application system but the decisions will be made by the oversea Embassies.

Seems like you they might have sent you an email to book an appointment but might have not delivered or you might have missed it hence you can see the appointment slots
In past also user’s saw appointment slots before getting the email

Ok, further update,
just recieved an emai from UKVCAS,

We recently wrote to tell you that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is changing the way it processes applications in response to COVID-19.

UKVI previously identified that you were eligible for their biometric reuse policy. This meant you would be able to use the new digital approach to verify for your identity. As a result, you were not asked to book an appointment at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) Service Point.

Further analysis by UKVI has shown that you will NOT be able to use the new digital biometric reuse approach. This means that you will need to book an appointment at a UKVCAS Service Point.

Please be reassured that your immigration status remains unaffected whilst your application is in progress.

Bit wiered, looks like they are changing their minds..Thats the reason i am able to see appointments.

Let me know if anyone you recieve something like this!
Thanks

Hi Moderator/All

Is there any timeline sub-forum page for in-country visa switching apart from ILR?
Please post the link if there is any.
On ILR timeline, can see most of the SET(O) applicants who received a mail to send the documents and SET(M) applications are getting decisions within 4-5 days after biometric but can’t find any timeline for in-country switch.

Good for you ! perhaps they have new criteria or some edge cases for Biometric reuse. Eitherway you get an appointment quickly than the rest of us who are waiting for reuse next steps.

Go for it - all the best .

I am in the same boat , changing Employers soon in September. But waiting for next steps after the reuse email !

Verified News!

Super Priority and Priority Service will not resume for the foreseeable future. I rang Home Office immediately to reconfirm such information and was told exactly the same.
My Solicitor told me that Priority and Super Priority are one of the ways for HO to break even. So, its in their financial interest to resume these. I believe and hope once they catch up with old applications [including Bio reuse], they should restart premium. There continues to be family emergencies in India/ back home and its difficult not to be able to go back when we are needed.

Verified News!

Super Priority and Priority Service will not resume for the foreseeable future. I rang Home Office immediately to reconfirm such information and was told exactly the same.

You have a valid tier 2 visa till June 2021. Nothing is preventing you from traveling if you can get a flight to India. Based in your other topic, you have not applied for ilr yet either.

Yes, was not talking about my case. Intention was to only share some info on the Premium services. You have good memory :D

Hi abhardwaj1390

Are you sure about this? I mean I cannot find on any official website anything about such situations.
I am in a similar position - applied 1 April, set O, and soon will be made redundant. For the date of my application, I was 100% eligible in accordance with all parameters. Actually, I am so worried, I am planning to obtain immigration solicitor advice...
To my knowledge all immigration applications subject to AT the date of application. Hence, its a matter of judgement. I can not advise on legal matters. Please seek professional opinion if deemed necessary.

Hope this clears the air.
My understanding is that You need to be eligible at the time of the decision which is when the application is reviewed and decided.
Sounds reasonable, but they do not give us choice - by putting into the biometric re-use group and calling it acceleration, these are exceptional circumstances, if it was not for corona and lockdown, there would not be redundancy and delays in applications process...
I was wondering if you checked whether the ILR applications should meet the criteria at date of application or if anything happens between the date of application and decision would affect it ?
