Date of application for ILR

Post by srp27 » Thu Aug 06, 2020 7:03 pm

Hi

Entry clearance date: valid from 09/09/15
Date of arrival in the UK: 14/09/15
BRP date of issue: 14/09/15

I know this question has been answered several times, so apologies but please could you clarify when is the earliest I am eligible to apply for ILR: 28 days before entry clearance date (12/08/2020) or 28 days before BRP date of arrival in the UK (17/08/2020).

Many thanks

Is this on spouse visa route? If yes, the date of eligibility to apply is 17/08/2020 counted from the day you entered into the UK.

Also note, date of application is the date you pay and submit your application online so make sure you are eligible on that date.

Sorry, should have mentioned. This is for the Tier 2 Set (O) route.

In that case it would be counted from the date of issuance of entry clearance instead date of arrival.

Also, I would like to add that there is only 5 days difference between the approval and BRP issue date as quoted by yourself. As seagul mentioned, you can use the approval date. But are you sure you have the original approval letter with that date on?
Usually its always safest to go by the BRP issue date as its handy to make sure you apply in time.
If I was you, I would use the BRP issue date to be safe.

Thanks seagul and cullinan. I thought it would be 28 days before the 5 year anniversary of the entry clearance approval but unfortunately I don't have the approval letter. As you say, it's only a 5 day difference so think I will go with the BRP issue date, better to be safe than sorry!

Also I have one additional question - does the payslip and/or bank statement need to be stamped / certified by the employer/bank.

Passport scan for ILR application

Post by srp27 » Wed Aug 12, 2020 11:22 am

Hi

I moved to the UK (and my qualifying period commenced) in September 2015 on a Tier 2 General Visa. For the ILR application Set (O), I understand I need to submit scanned copy of my full passport (including blank pages).

My new passport was issued in July 2015 and therefore stamps provide evidence for all my absences from the UK during my qualified period. Do I need to scan a copy of my old passport (I don't believe so but wanted to confirm?)

Thanks

Topics merged!!

If your old passport has no relevance to your tier 2 general visas and UK residence, then no you do not have to scan it.

Leave absence for previous employer

Post by srp27 » Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:59 pm

Hi,

My old employer has provided me with an employment reference however they have stated they are unable to list my dates of paid annual leave during my employment as their system does not allow them to go back to obtain records for more than 2 years and it is firm's policy not to provide any other details. During my employment with them between 14 September 2015 - 26 September 2016, I spent 60 days outside of the UK.

Please could you kindly advise what is best in this situation in respect of my ILR application?

Thanks

I am confused as I do not understand what I need to do - I replied initially on this posting which contained previous queries I had and you said 'topics merged'. I then created a blank new post in relation to my query and you have said 'topics merged' and locked my post. I am still unclear after reading the guidance on multiple posts - please could you clarify?

The link I have provided clearly explains the forum rules, ie post your queries on the same application in ONE topic.
Please create and use one topic for your queries regarding a specific topic / immigration application (e.g. - settlement, PBS, naturalisation). This helps people to get a view of your immigration history, details etc. under one topic and helps them to answer your queries better.
