You need to be in well lit room, ideally in front of a white or light coloured wall. So that your face is clearly visible. I would recommend you to try it during day light, if it didn't work at night in the room.
Thank you!
It’s finally worked for me after following your instructions.

Hi there, I’m trying to Uploads my files in UKVAS for Citizenships application. There is an option of prove of application. Which should I submit. One more thing as I can’t see any appointment availability on UKVCAS website. I also downloaded the IDV app. But can’t access . Should I wait for UKVAS to invite me for IDV app?

I’ll appreciate if someone replies on this post.

Thanks

If would tell you what needs to be uploaded. Mine is an ILR application. My solicitor uploaded cover letter prepared by solicitor(not mandatory i guess), application form, checklist, passport and consent forms.
Here is what it shows for me:
"Declaration signed by Mr xxxx to confirm consent for the Home Office to request verification checks, Consent form for the Home Office to request verification checks on xxxx for joint accounts or third party support, The passport issued by <country> for Mr xxxx"

And you will be invited to book appointment or to use the IDV app. You won't see available appointments before that. Hope this helps.

hello abhardwaj1390 - do you mind sharing when you got the IDV App invite and what is your application date?

There is a reason lot of us wanted a separate IDV thread, but alas!

<< IDV app invitation >>
It seems like applicants between 10 April to 13 April have received the invitations today.
They are inviting applicants to date wise and not randomly.

Wow finally I just got an invitation to use the IDV app at apart half 6 this evening.
I applied April 5th, sent opt out email Aug 5 but mistakenly used the UKVI payment reference number so did not get an invite to book an appointment.
Today I have used the app to submit ID, however I did not see anywhere asking me to put my UAN so I submitted it like that. Hopefully this isn't a problem. Or has anyone actually put their UAN when using the app?

Hi All,

I just wanted to share an update.

I registered on UKVCAS on 06 April and I had chose to use the IDV app.

I have received an email to use the IDV app today and I have successfully done everything required on the app. The app is very easy to use.

Also, before the email i was never able to see any appointments, however today I saw many slots available on UKVCAS. Earliest one was tomorrow. However, none of them were free, and minimum charge was £69.99. I guess they want people to use the app instead of taking the appointments hence they are not providing any free slots.

Lets see how long the wait is now to get the decision for us IDV app users.

I will update once I receive anything.

Good luck to everyone.

Dear Members,

I have submitted Mandatory documents (passport + partner declaration) and optional documents as per the checklist of UKVI, using UKVCAS portal in July.

Now I have received IDV email. Is this only ID verification I need to do?

Thanks, AB

You should be able to see all your documents attached via the IDV. In that case, all you need to do is ID verification and submit. Note, take your time and make sure you do it right. Once submitted, you can not change anything.

Hi Cullinan,

While doing IDV there are following steps:

Login to the app using their UKVCAS credentials
Take a Picture
Do a ‘liveness’ check
Take a photo of travel documents
Submit the application to UKVI

Do I need to provide additional passport size photo? (it says in idv app video)
Travel documents = First or all pages of passport + BRP? ( I have already submitted both to UKVI through the web site)

I do not have a first hand experience of using the app yet so really can not comment but maybe someone else can help who has used the IDV app already.

Travel document is the passport alone not BRP. First bio page should be enough for ID purpose.
I think you need not upload any physical passport size photo, you need to take a selfie and do a liveness check. Thats all.
