Covid-19 Residency Gap & Calculator

Post by Moh25ah » Tue Sep 01, 2020 11:07 pm

Hi All,

Hope you all keeping safe.

Could anyone please advice me on the way to do the residency calculator.

I had Stamp 4 GNIB which was expired on April/2020 & Due to Covid-19 all immigration offices were close.
The minster of Justice extended the GNIB for 2 months then 2 months then 1 month
http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/up ... ouncements
this extensions were counted as reckonable residence for citizenship purposes.
then I renewed my GNIB on 23/07/2020

I will submit my application at the end of this month (based on 5 years) & want to know what should I attache to make sure that the last 365 days were without Gap.

Thank you all
Be safe

Once you get your new IRP card, your new card’s permission start date can be traced back to when your old IRP card expires.

So in the residency calculator, if your old card expires on 1 April, and you get your new card on 30 August, you can put in 1 April instead of 30 August as the date when your new permission starts.

Thanks

my new card starts on 23/07

I thought that I should fill this period as extra stamp.

Thank you

I have the same problem, my gnib expired 21/8, I got permission from EUTreaty rights in june, but I was unable to register before 13/8. Now, I want to apply for Naturalisation, but I have 3 weeks gap. If I put the date of my new stamp 21/8 as you suggested it will not match my stamps in passport and my GNIB card (date on the card is also 13/8), and I have to submit copy of it with my application. I really don’t know what to do. Any advise would be appreciated

I did, thanks for advise. I am just confused as it says to put date of stamp and not permission. Date of stamp in my passport is 13/8 as well as on my new card. If I put 21/7 and submit a copy of my card with different date will I have a problem?

I have verified this with the Citizenship team.

I asked them if the last stamp expires on 8 May, and the new stamp starts in August. Here's the reply.
Thanks for your email. When you are inputting the dates of your stamps onto the residency calculator ...... please use Stamp 4 - 8th May 2019 to the date of application.

Kind regards
