Hi everybody - just FYI:
I was helping a colleague (EU citizen) to apply for citizenship (the guy is uni prof, but he is 70 and all this digital staff is above his head)
He applied on July 25, and did biometrics appointment August 24.
So - he just got the approval email.

Sorry, biometrics appointment was on August 25
The case was straightforward - he worked full time in UK for 7 years, got PR two years ago, and did not travel much outside of UK.

I’ve been following this forum as a non-member, but decided to register to be able to log in and update you about my BC’s application.

I have just received a letter from the H.O about my successful application at 7:59am - 4.9.20 in my Junk mail folder. The decision letter is attached to the email as well.

BC application submitted: 31 March 2020
Reuse IDV app invite received: 21 Aug 2020
Facial image and other docs submitted through IDV app: 21 Aug 2020
Approval letter received: 4 Sep 2020

In the letter, the HO officer informs that it may take up to 12 weeks for my ceremony invite to be sent. Now i will just have to wait, but at least the stress of waiting for the approval is gone.

I know its not a timeline but because a lot of people here are looking for invites and IDV app etc. I just keep it short I submitted my biometrics via IDV app on 22nd August and got an approval on 3rd September.

Congrats blueskies89. Seems like approvals are pouring in date order; from date of submission of biometrics via IDV app. Previously members reported approvals when submitted biometrics via IDV app on 19th, 21st and now yourself on 22nd Aug. So I would say a rough 2 weeks time scale after biometrics submission via IDV app.

yea others two had same timeline which u posted last week.. 14days.. lets hope we get more approvals within next week.

Hey everyone, August applicant here. Just tried to log into IDV and managed! They started opening for August applicants now. Haven’t yet received the email though.

Some members reported to be able to log in IDV app without an email.
Everyone waiting should check.

I was able to log in about an hour ago (application date 23rd of June), friend of mine who applied on 2nd July also logged in. Neither received email yet

I was able to log in just now - finally submitted my info!
Applied June 11th - no email received yet!

Got the invitation to use IDV app today.

I have a question: mandatory documents is the passport that I have uploaded in the mandatory document list. I have several other docs to upload and I am not sure how to group them in different categories. Earlier I uploaded everything in the category called "Others". Should I make changes and put documents in different categories or everything under 'Other' catergory is fine??

I have two questions and I appreciate your answers.

1) I have already submitted the documents through the ukvcas website and it says 'submitted' when I login through the website. However, I think I can upload it using the App. Is it necessary to categories all documents? Can I leave as it is with all documents under 'Other' category?

2) When I applied for naturalisation, I gave my passport detail in the application and that passport is now expired. I have renewed a new Indian passport. I have uploaded both passport copies in the mandatory category. however, for taking picture of my travel document should I take a photo of the new passport or the one which I used in the application (expired already).

2) Use the same passport for passport photo verification you mentioned in the application (expired).

Add a cover letter. Mention the new passport number. Upload a copy of new passport also.

finally got the invite.
Applied 22nd June, will upload the photo tomororw in good day light.
couple of questions.

1. What Id photo should be uploaded?
a. ILR BRP
b. Passport
2. Will I now be in the queue with 5th Sept or will it be 22n June (doesn't really matter just curious).

1) Its the travel document i.e. passport
2) Not sure. Few members who reported approvals after submitting biometrics via IDV app are in date order of submission of biometrics date via IDV app.

Application submitted for Spouse of British Citizen + 2 Children 8th July 2020 and documents submitted to UKVI on 10th July 2020. I received Biometric reuse email on 6th August 2020 and
Invitation to use UKVCAS IDV APP on Friday 4th of September 2020 at 6:24pm. The facial photographs for the three applicant was taken and travel document verification was done and submitted to UKVI immediately.

But before the email, I had try to login app and appointment page today afternoon, both access were working.

I applied for naturalisation base on ILR tire 1 plus one year With family on 07/08/20.
I am thinking to book an appointment.

Everyone waiting from Mar-Jul and a few from early August received IDV invites yesterday around 3pm.
A lot of people sent a DM to UKVCAS on twitter on 3rd sep including me but response was just a reasuurance that invite will be sent by 7-sep. So, probably not the tweet!

In case it helps anyone, my dates.

Applied on website and made payment: Aug 4
Received confirmation that I can use the IDV app: Aug 27
Received email to use the IDV app: Sept 4
Submitted documents and did identity check on IDV app: Sept 5

Did not receive any confirmation email about application submission, only on app.

Also, I had only one mandatory document to upload, and that was my passport for confirmation of application. I have applied for student visa, then sponsored visa, then extension to sponsored visa and then ILR in the last 8 yrs.

Not all applicants who were waiting have received an invite. 16 June here - no invite, can’t login. Really doubt this invite is coming by Monday. Looks like it’s a letter to the MP on Tuesday.

Wait till 7th Sep. If not, try to email:

UKVACS@homeoffice.gov.uk (its UKVACS yes) [applicants up to 31st July]

In the body of your email, include: name of applicant and UAN (Unique Application Number).

Try to DM UKVCAS twitter handle too after 7th Sep if needed.

Naturalisation application 21/08
