Urgent help needed - EC rejected for maintenance funds

Post by vj635 » Thu Sep 04, 2008 5:02 am

Hi,

My EC application has been rejected. I applied from India. I had shown HSBC UK bank statements for funds. As now I am in India I get only quarterly statements for this account. I applied on 29th July, with oroginal bank statements till June 20th and then internet bank statement for July. I was not able to get original statements in India.

Now I am applying for Admin review. Pls suggest on what explanation to write. I still have about £4500 in my account. Did anyone face a similar issue?

Thanks,
Vijay

I don't think admin review will help. E-bank statements are accepted only if they are signed and stamped by bank.

According to the tier1 guide.

206. This evidence must be original, on the official letter-headed paper or stationery of the organisation and bearing the official stamp of that organisation. It must have been issued by an authorised official of that
organisation.

For applications submitted outside of the UK, all
evidence must be dated no more than 7 days before
the application is submitted.

1. Personal bank or building society statements
covering the three-month period immediately before
the application:The personal bank or building society
statements should clearly show:
• the applicant’s name;
• the account number;
• the date of the statement;
• the financial institution’s name and logo;
• transactions covering the three-month period;
• that there are sufficient funds present in the
account (the balance must always be at least £2,800 or £800, as appropriate).
If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account these must contain all of the details listed above. In addition, the applicant will need to provide a supporting letter from their bank, on company headed paper, confirming the authenticity of the statements provided.

Is it better to make a new application after getting latest statements or go for admin review?

Thanks,
Vijay

As you are not able to submit new documents for an administrative review unless requested, it would be best to submit a new application.
