There are many FREE appointments available. If someone who submitted biometrics via IDV app, is in urgent need of a decision, the best is to book a FREE UKVCAS appointment (so you dont pay unnecessarily) and test your luck via dual submission.

Note, only if you are in urgent need, otherwise it is not necessary.

I believe, decisions via biometrics submitted through IDV only will start pouring in soon also. It is matter of how much urgency you have.

Also, note, dual submission still does NOT guarantee a quick decision as every case is different but evidence shows that MAJORITY applicants have got a faster decision via appointment route.

But there is a MINORITY who still is waiting even after submitting biometrics via UKVCAS appointment also.

Hope you can make an informed decision.

Majority applicants who went for IDV app are still waiting.

Are there ANY applicants who went for appointment ONLY and are waiting also??

Seems like ONLY IDV app applicants are waiting.....
I went for an appointment at UKVCAS (no IDV) on 8 September, and have gotten no correspondence of any sort from UKVI. I'm a SET(M) applicant.

It's certainly nerve-wracking when reading the quick turnarounds after biometrics that people are posting in the timeline threads.
My husband also gave his biometrics on 8th sept to no news as of yet.

I have gone through posts in the SET(O) timeline thread and found the following:

Applicants with decision and application date between 31-Jul and 01-Sep: 31

IDV ONLY submission: None

UKVCAS appointments: 31

IDV + UKVCAS (Dual submission): 4

Average decision time since application:
29.97 calendar days
Min: 15 calendar days
Max: 44 calendar days

Average decision time since UKVCAS biometrics:
4.19 calendar days
Min: 2 calendar days
Max: 8 calendar days

The data above is based on how accurate were dates reported in the timeline thread.

Applicants who applied through IDV only & waiting decisions, check these three tweets:

I'm still waiting (have been refreshing right to work page and my inbox every 15 minutes today!
This is literally my life right now. They probably think its a DDOS attack for how often I'm refreshing. Though I still have managed to memorise my BRP number.
HAHAHA YES! Probably biggest achievement this week is memorising BRP number
Good luck to you! :)

It's reassuring to know there are several of us out there! I'm trying to remind myself that the timelines posted here represent only a tiny fraction of the cases UKVI is processing.

UKVI gets around 8000 applications per month from people who migrated from outside EU/EEA for ILR.

They have to give quick decisions for a handful of applications before majority start ditching IDV and pay UKVCAS for the appointments.

In timeline thread, there are 34 successful ILR applicants who applied between 31-Jul to 4-Sep and got decision in an average time of 4.17 calendar days after UKVCAS in-person biometric submission

I did my biometrics on Sept 7 for ILR Set(M) and still waiting. Starting to get worried, seeing late August applicants who had appointments at the same time get approved :(

You only applied on 4th August. It is best to stay positive. Many applicants are waiting for a decision since March.

Not sure why anyone who applied in Aug/Sep is worried when clearly applicants who applied in March-July are waiting for a decision

Stay positive and patient please.

Yes I understand :) We're only saying that in relation to other Set(M) applicants who applied and did biometrics around the same time as us, we are starting to feel left behind. :| We're entitled to worry as we see fit. I don't see any reason to tell people 'hey don't worry, others have been waiting longer than you' - it's not a contest. We're all stressed.

This is positive btw - trying to connect with similar applicants and offer support and telling them they're not alone. :D

This topic is not the right place to discuss your unnecessary worries when you only applied in August. Every case is different and you just can not expect getting a quick decision like everyone.

In my personal observation, I think Tier 2 applicants (majority cases) are getting faster decisions than any other route to ILR.
@CULLINAN - Thats good news to hear, any idea how many working days its taking approx. for Tier 2 General - (Change of employment) in country application when biometrics done only via IDV app ( in my case its on 2nd sept).

Apologies if this is not related to this thread

I would say decisions via IDV app should be expected within 3 weeks after biometrics. But again, every case is different and this may not apply to everyone.

I think it is entirely reasonable for August applicants to express concerns when you see september applicants are getting their approvals. And most people's cases are a lot more straightforward than you think, so some consistency in processing timelines is not a lot to ask

Bit of an update seen on an FB group. Set LR applicant who applied in the beginning of April and used the IDV app ONLY on 22nd August received an approval yesterday. Things are moving people. I know it's hard but stay strong and stay patient (as patient as possible, at least!)

That is what YOU think. HO has their own checks and enquires which they carry out before a decision is made. It may look a straight forward case to you but could take months even if one enquiry is outstanding.

Hi Guys lets all relax and is any one is looking for any assurance this is a reply i got form UKVI when I made an enquiry

Thank you for your enquiry dated the 14th September regarding your query.

The service level agreement for Indefinite Leave to Remain is 6 month. We will endeavour to conclude your application at the earliest opportunity and we will write to you as soon as the necessary checks are complete. Please be assured that, as soon as we are in a position to reach a decision, you will be notified accordingly.

For further information about our service standards please visit:

https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... r-services

So my conclusion, based on the email received you can do the following as an example below;
If you applied in as an example on 20th March 2020 if after 20th September 2020 you have not got a decision you can start escalating your case.
  • April 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in October 2020 based on the date you applied in April.
May 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in November 2020 based on the date you applied in May.
June 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in December 2020 based on the date you applied in June.
July 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in January 2021 based on the date you applied in July.
August 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in February 2021 based on the date you applied in August.
September 2020 applicant you can start to escalate your case in March 2021 based on the date you applied in September.
And so on and so forth, there is no need to be panicking, be anxious either way a decision will be made eventually we all got to be patient.

I would reiterate this topic is not to discuss unnecessary worries/emotions.

Please read the topic name before posting. I can understand the worry for someone who applied in March - July but I fail to understand the worry for applicants who just applied in August/Sep. It is too early to expect decisions for them.

You all have the right to be worried (if you want to) but this topic is not the right place to discuss unnecessary worries.
