Application prepared to submit to the minister

Post by Chap1122 » Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:17 am

HI folks I applied based on stamp 4 from non EU in Feb 2019.

Got second stage letter in April 2019.

Now got letter that my application is being prepared to be submitted to the minister.
What does it signify?

It means the next ceremony might be around the corner.

Hello there,

Received an email stating the same.

It means they’re getting everything together and will submit it to the Minister for approval.

They’re back from their summer recess and can thus get things moving. Sounds like a ceremony soon enough.

Cheers xx

That's some positive news and the fruit of our petition and other efforts by members on the forum (Haters and pessimists still gonna hate though - I know - But who cares?!).
Lets hope for some more good news soon.

I got the same reply today

Thank you for your email.
Your application is currently at an advanced stage of processing. While it
is not possible to give an exact time frame, this office will be in touch
with you as soon as a decision has been reached.

My contact in the Citizenship department says the review of the pilot virtual ceremony is nearly over with just some administrative procedures left.

We should see something coming in the next month or so.

No, but it will be submitted to the minister very soon. They will go through one last round of checks and have a supervisor signing off the application before submitting it to the minister.

Most people will. It doesn't mean that everyone will (some people's applications got stuck in this stage for up to a year). If your application is straightforward (i.e. 5 years work, or 3 years with an Irish spouse, with no criminal history etc), you should be good.

My wife is now waiting for almost 3 years and she has been told about 'advance stage' and 'being submitted to minister' a few of times over those 3 years so I wouldn't hold my breath! :)

So last month my application was in advanced stage .. and today I got this reply ... :( :( :( :(

Thank you for your email. I am directed by the Minister for Justice and
Equality to refer to your correspondence received in this Office.

Your application for naturalisation is currently being processed with a
view to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions for the
granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for
decision when processing is complete.

The Division, like everyone in the State, has been impacted by the
restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 healthcare crisis. The restrictions
imposed have resulted in all Citizenship staff working remotely with
minimal access to the Office. Obviously these restrictions are outside of
the control of the division and have resulted in significant delays in
dealing with correspondence received in the Office and have had a negative
impact on processing times for all applications as the Division adjusts to
working in the current environment. The processing of the applications is
further impacted by the ability of Citizenship to contact other bodies,
many of whom will be negatively impacted by COVID-19.

I can confirm that the Division has engaged in concentrated effort to
process and complete all cases that remain outstanding for a considerable
period of time. Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a
decision has been reached on the application. Your patience in this matter
is appreciated.
