Tier 2

Post by Illi » Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:30 pm

In 2015, I applied for ICT visa. I had DUI in US in 2009, i thought as my conviction is spent. I answered no to criminal conviction question.

Now, my employer giving me tier 2, but this time in application form it is quite clear that mention about spent and unspent conviction, i am happy to ans yes and provide all docs.

This is honest mistake I made in past, wondering what would be the consequences? :(

An isolated incident 11 years ago, is unlikely to affect your application. I am not even convinced the Home Office would be able to see an 11 year old US record about a DUI.

But well, you have to play honest and mention it this time.

Thank you!
But do you think they will say you didnt disclose in old application in 2015 and got visa and disclosing now in 2021?
It was honest mistake earlier in 2015 and and I am happy to mention about that DUI conviction now.

How bad was the DUI in the States? If you end up with a caution from the cops, just forget it and never mention it again.

If you did some time or were deported from the States, you have to mention it in any application you make.

Was not deported, but got fined & was on work release for couple of days. Afterwards, worked in US as well.

Living in UK now on work visa (applied in 2015), but forgot to mention about this DUI when I made an application in past. Now applying for tier 2 general, I am clear that I need to mention about it. I made honest mistake in past.

My main question is - Do you think HO will raise concern that didnt mention before but mentioning about this DUI now? & reject my visa on this basis?
