Hello

There is no "7 year route". When you are in an immigration route, you have some guarantees against adverse changes. Usually, changes affect new entrants while people already in the route, may still keep going as usual.

But if you are present in the UK illegally with a kid and waiting to finish 7 years under the radar, you are not in any immigration route. You may want to wait 7 years to lodge an application, but they could change the rules and that would affect your options.

This "route" has nothing to do with European Union.

Has either child lived for 7 years in the UK? Keep in mind that the 7 year child concession applies to a child who has lived for at least 7 years in the UK, not to a child who is 7 years old, but not spent 7 years living in the UK.

It is unclear if the 7 year old child was born in the UK or abroad.

They are simply saying they do not know when they will make a decision on your application
