Application for the EU settlement scheme family permit.
Timeline is as follows
1) Application submitted -----------------------01/09/2020
2) Biometric Submitted----------- ------------04/09/2020
3)Email UKVI paid service---------------------24/09/2020
4)Response from UKVI------------------------25/09/2020

In an email dated 25/09/2020, UKVI confirmed that a decision has been made on the application but still waiting to hear from VFS for the collection of the passport.
Could you please help to figure out where the delay is and what is the current status of the application?
Same here. I had to email UKVI paid enquiry service myself today and only then did they tell me that a decision had been made and that my VAC shall contact me to give me back my passport. Still waiting on this at the moment.

From what I heard, due to Covid-19, their services have become slow and it will take time to get back the passport.

Dear AFR,

Thank you very nice for sharing your case. Can you please advise what strait forward Email means and what you mean about reply to not straightforward email on the 7 Sept for your case? Have they asked you to provide extra proofs ?

UPDATE

Morning everyone.

It’s a VERY happy day for us today. 3rd time applying EEA family permit extended family member (13yo sister in law). And we were successful!!!

Timeline:
Online application: 27/02/2020
Biometrics: 03/03/2020
Received by UKVI: 04/03/2020
Not straightforward email: 23/03/2020
Email to collect documents: 17/09/2020
Documents collected: 22/09/2020
Visa stamp date: 09/09/20

Thats great new im very happy for u

Hi All,

I am in process of applying for visa for my sister in law who is 14 years old. I am also applying for my parents in law. What I understood from your posts that for my sister I need to apply for EU family permit? The problem is that I am not sending money to my parent regularly. It is not a problem for my parents visa as dependency is assumed. Can I apply for my parent first and after they got pre settled status apply for my sister, proving that she is dependant on my parents?

Seems very confusing

I just find it weird, as surely 14 years old girl can't stay alone if her parents are moving to UK?

Appreciate any help and ideas.

Thanks

'Not Straightforward Email' means something went wrong with assessing your Application, that they require some more proof/clarifications regarding your Application. Yes they asked me for more proof, which I gave in return.

Hello everyone,
I am a UK resident and applied for my family for EUSS Family Permit. They were 3 separate applications and separate biometric appointments as couldn't get an appointment on same day. The one application got refused by email (child) just after 7 days of being acknowledged in the UK (grounds on financial evidence missing even though I thought dependency is assumed for children of EEA citizen) however the rest are still pending and its been over 10 days for them. Is it possible that one gets refused and two pass even though its the same family? Could someone please advise us as we are anxiously waiting.
Thanks

Also: once a decision has been made should you receive the refusal email straight away or does it take a few days to send out?

Looking at multiple online comments, you normally get a refusal decision very soon and your passport is returned a few days after the refusal decision (sometimes, the very next day after a refusal decision!).
If you don't get your passport, then it means either they are still taking time to consider your case or that they have already made a decision and they are just waiting to give back your passport to you.
I would highly suggest you to send UKVI an email using the online paid enquiry service so that you can at least know whether a decision has been made or whether they are still processing your application.

Thanks for your reply. I called up on 22.10.2020 and they said that a decision has been made. However until today no refusal email and no email to collect passport. I hope the next email would be to collect the passport. Now just wondering what the outcome is

Hello ssniiaz6,

From where you are applying? Can you share your case timeline?

I called same day and I have been told that a decision has been made and to call in 15 days to escalate if I don’t receive email from TLS to collect the passport.

Biometrics in Rabat Morocco : 30/09/2020
Email from Liverpool application received : 05/10:2020.
Not straightforward email : 13/10/2020.
Call to check if all ok : 22/10/2020 and I have been informed that a decision has been made.

Same here, I am also just waiting for my passport. I have discussed my case with the centre in charge of the VAC, and at the moment it seems that the only thing we can do is but wait.

Where are you applying from? What is your timeline?

Hello,
You shared two timelines. Which is it? What kind of euss family permit did you make? For spouse, in-law or child? What was the reason for refusal? Share you please?

Eea Family permit for brother in law 16 years old.
My wife is Italian National, I’m Gambian living in Uk, my brother is in Gambia.
We submitted all relevant paperwork,

Application- 29-09-2020
Biometric- 02-10-2020
Acknowledgment email - 6-10-2020
Not straightforward email - 20-10-2020
Refusal email 26-10-2020

In assessing your individual application, it has not been necessary to interview you, but I have taken account of:
• the personal circumstances as declared by you on your application form, • your passport,
• your family circumstances and
• the supporting documents you provided.
I have used all the information provided by you to determine if the requirements of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016 have been met. In reaching my decision, which has been made on the balance of probabilities, I note the following points:
THE DECISION
• You state that your sister in law is an Italian national. You have provided evidence that your sponsor holds an Italian passport.

In order to qualify for an EEA family permit as the extended family member of an EEA national you must demonstrate that you are dependent on your sponsor in accordance with regulation 8. Guidance states that financial dependence should be interpreted as meaning that the family member needs the financial support of the EEA national or his or her spouse/civil partner to meet the family members essential needs in the country where they are present – not in order to have a certain level of income. The applicant must also provide evidence to show their EEA national sponsor has enough money to support them and the applicant is reliant on them for this.
I note that you have provided several money transfer receipts from your sponsor to you however I would also expect to see evidence which fully details yours and your family’s circumstances. Your income, expenditure and evidence of your financial position which would prove that without the financial support of your sponsor your essential living needs could not be met.
I therefore refuse your EEA Family Permit application because I am not satisfied that you meet all of the requirements of regulation 12 (see ECGs EUN2.23) of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016.

My parents biometric on 1 October, decision made 15 October. It's UKVI delaying Passports . I will definitely complain to my local MP on Monday . If refusal passport can return with in a day then why can not the other ?

I applied from the USA for the EUSS Family Permit on August 24th, Biometrics completed August 31st. On October 6 I paid the inquiry email and they confirmed that the decision was made. Since then I have been in touch with VFS and they said they haven't received anything from the Decision Making Center. I still don't have my passport :( . It is definitely UKVI holding passports.

EEA family permit for extended family member was refused citing following reasons;
1)ECO wanted to see the prolonged period of dependency -

“Bank transfer and money transfer receipts weee submit covering the period of almost 2 years”

2) ECO WANTED to see the income certificate In respect of applicant from the competent authorities from the country of origin—

“Notary attested affidavit was submit with the original application”

Can anyone suggest that, is it with making new application along with the document requested or should go for appeal ?
Thanks
