You are over-thinking it. It is just whatever fees the CAS says are still to be paid.
out of your first year's fee which is 7500, you need to show the amount remaining to be paid. So, for example of you have paid 5000, you are required to show the remaining amount 2500 plus maintenance charges 9135 outside london. So, altogether it will be £11635. Hope i clearified it successfully.hbhatt wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:55 pmHi, I have confusion about my student visa.
My total course fee is £15000 for 23 months (2 years) and so as per UKBA, I need to show finances for 1 year of study + 9 months of living expenses which is £9135.
But I don't know how much of £15000 I need to show prior to applying for a visa?
I mean do I have to show £15000 + £9135 or £7500 + £9135? Because University only needs 50% of fees and rest after 6 months.
Please can someone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance.
One more thing, please avoid showing too much extra money in your account. It doesn't guarantee success of your application. In contrast, it do have some negative impact. I have seen people getting their visas rejected because of showing double the amount required.hbhatt wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:55 pmHi, I have confusion about my student visa.

This is nonsense. The refusal letters you say you have seen may well confirm that the refusal was for not meeting the maintenance requirement, but it could not be because they have shown too much money. That is not grounds for a refusal.rham wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 3:26 pmOne more thing, please avoid showing too much extra money in your account. It doesn't guarantee success of your application. To be on the safer side only show 2 to 3 thousand pound extra than requiredsah10406 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 4:53 pmThis is nonsense. More nonsense.
You can say that. I'm telling you from experience. let me give you an example. If you show about PKR 0.3 million in your name and you say it's your personal savings and your salary is 0.1m per month when you've been working for last 2 years. Officer can easily reject your visa based on the fact that this is not your money. You have to be critical and think about these metters before you put an application. I've seen visas getting reject based on similar scenerios. There was another who showed 0.3 million and his salary was only 30to 40k. I hope it does make sense now.
Exactly. It is not because the applicant is showing too much money, it is because the money does not appear to be "genuinely available" to them.
