British registration of UK born child

Post by Mjais85 » Mon Oct 12, 2020 9:07 am

Dear Gurus, Experts, Moderators and also @Christina88

I am in same the situation as this topic.
I have received my ILR Approval on 08/10/2020, waiting BRP.

In the meantine, I am going to fill in MN1 form for my 1 year old daughter born in the UK.

Questions:
1. Can I use same email address I used for my ILR, also for my Daughter's MN1 Online application and her UKVCAS? (As I can still login into my UKVI & UKVCAS account)

2. I presume their will a question on the MN1 Form asking 'Nationality', I am not sure what I will be entering in there? as we never got her our home country passport as we did not intended to travel until my ILR.

Thank you.

1) Yes, once you will apply and book an appointment, the application will be linked. However, if you have another email address, best to use that to keep things simpler.
2) Child will take on your nationality.

Thank you for you prompt reply.
Will use different email to keep it simple and put same nationality as mine for my daughter.

Dear Respected Gurus, Moderators

I am filling up the MN1 form for my one year old daughter, and have come across the below question, which i need help please.

"Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?"

Option:
Yes or No

If selected Yes.

"Can you provide a document to certify your parent's permanent residence?"

Option:
Yes or No

Please correct me if I am wrong, I think they are mentioning "Permanent Residence" to my ILR and obviously my one year old daughter will be relying on it and yes I can provide the document (BRP) ILR.

Hi @CULLINAN

When filling the MN1 Form for my one year old daughter (born in the UK)

There were question if she got Passport and any national identity.

I said NO, as does not hold any currently.

Which has led my to the question to 'explain why she have not got any kind of identification'

I have currently answered:

'Born in the UK on date xx/xx/xxx, one year old, have got birth certificate but do not have passport or any other form of identification yet, and have not travelled outside the UK.'

just needed your opinion please if the answer is good enough or I need to add/mention anything else.

And as always, thank you so much for your help.

Correct. Born in UK, Full UK Birth Certificate is enough to prove identity. No other documents needed for same.

No, that would be breach of privacy. Just mention your experience truthfully in the cover letter. HO has no reason not to believe you. Plus HO is not strict when it comes to referees in cases of young children. In case HO wants other referees (unlikely), they will contact you.

PS being off sick and refusing to provide a reference is a different thing. There is no urgency that you apply now. You may wait till she can provide a reference and is well to do so. This reason is not valid for an exemption. I would suggest you try other referees who know the child in professional capacity first.

Hi @Cullinan,

I am submitting my Child's MN1 online and in the Declaration it is asking the below question:
Kindly Help

I confirm that:

I am the applicant

I am a representative of the applicant and have been authorised to act on their behalf and have discussed and confirmed the contents of this application with them

Do I select I am the Applicant or I am a Representative?

Select I am the Applicant.
The other option is in case you use a solicitor.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
