Checklist for BC

Post by inspired2020 » Sun Oct 18, 2020 10:44 am

First of all thank you everyone on this forum helping me through this hard times !
Bit of my history: I was on Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa and I got my BC in march 2020.
My wife and 2 kids just got their ILR approval letter yesterday.
I want to apply for their BC straight away once received the BRPs next week. Could you please again direct me to right direction . Any checklist I can follow for the documents required ?
Also BC ceremonies are happening by video call now ?
Thanks you once again and best of luck to everyone who are waiting.

Documents we prepared for British Citizenship application are:
Application form
Passports
Biomatric
2 referees
marriage certificate
council tax bills, P60 & Tenancy agreements for 3 years
Is that all or we missing something ?
Can we use same referees for dependents as i used for mine in march for my BC ?
And for biometric are we using same IDV app as used for ILR ?
Thanks !

In that case, you have to write a cover letter and explain with evidence (if possible) that you contacted GP/school etc. You can arrange referees as per Adult requirements then. HO will write to you in case any other referees are needed then.

The referees must be persons who know you, not institutions.

@alterhase58

I am going to get it signed from my son's school today. I thought just school office can sign it. If his teacher signed the form , then not sure if his teacher can provide her personal details like : passport etc..

You need a person to sign it who knows the child and has engaged with the child in a professional capacity - if that is for the child. If they refuse to provide a referral, follow the previous advice as stated above.

i just spoke to my child's school office and they say they can sign the form. But i did not tell them that i also need his teacher passport number, phone , address email etc.
Just wondering when i go to school and ask for all these details as well, how they will react ? Probably his teacher not going to share her personal details i guess.
I going in next hour and lets see

HI
Just been to school, they are ok to sign the form but cant provide personal information.
So I am just using same referee as adult.
I just submitted applications online and paid.
Only appointments i am getting in dec 17th and 18th in Birmingham. but fee is £597 for 3 applicants. is this fee normal or I can get free appointment if i wait few more weeks or something ?
If not then is this a regular appointment fee ? its around £200 per applicant ? thanks

Free appointments are rare. You have to look around different places/locations for a few days to get lucky.

No. It varies £65-£200 each or more depending on centre types, location etc.

I have few things to confirm ; in document checklist :
there is document mentioned 'Proof of parental responsibility' .
what it can be ?
Second document is 'Consent Form' from parents. Is there any template of something I can find for anywhere online . Or we have to prepare ourselves ?
