Are you a naturalised British Citizen yourself?

Presumably you applied and naturalised as British and are not British by descent.

A child born abroad to a British citizen other than by descent is automatically British. Apply for a passport directly. Child will be British by descent and any children born to them abroad will not be British.

It is not in your case as you are British otherwise by descent. Your baby born abroad is British by descent.
