Hi everyone,

When did UKVCAS stop accepting IDV submissions again? I know that there's no IDV now but wanted to know when that stopped.

It was in mid September.

Thanks CR001. Hmm interesting. I see in the timeline thread that there are a few IDV submissions on Sep 23/24. These must be the last ones then?

It seems that for the past week HO is trying to load-balance and process IDV submissions cases first before physical appointment cases, so I'm trying to guess when my case (physical appointment Oct 21) will be dealt with :).

Mid September they gave IDV access to applicants so they (late Sep IDV users) should be the last ones.

The HO seem to be focusing on IDV backlog but they are also dealing with in-person. There have been approvals as early as October for similar timeline as yours (SET(O) Oct Applicant having had Oct in-person appt). You cannot really guess when your case will be dealt with. Your window would be (22 Oct 2020 to 04 April 2021), however SET(O) T2 General seem to be the quickest, therefore, who knows it might be imminent for you. Good luck.

I submitted my Set (O) on 1st Oct with biometrics on 23rd Oct. In the week I submitted biometrics there were quite a few Set (O) decisions and it seemed like they were doling out approvals within a week of biometrics but it changed from the week after. The focus in the past weeks has shifted to August/ Sep applicants. I think they will eventually get to our applications.

Hello everybody,

I am been following the posts in this forum, which has given me reassurance that SET (M) applications via IDV app are being processed accordingly. I have applied for my SET (M) visa on 07th July and have yet to hear on the outcome of my application, like many other members of this forum. I contacted my MP roughly two weeks ago to enquire whether they could contact the HO about the status of my application. I haven't heard from my MP or received a generic response from HO yet.

How long did it take for you to get a response from your MP?

Thank you for your guidance!

Every MP works differently. Some are more helpful than others. Some do not even bother. You should have waited longer before contacting MP. You are most likely to receive a generic response. You can only wait patiently now.

Thank you for your reply! I had also booked an in-person appointment for 28th Nov but it has been cancelled. I guess it's a waiting game now. Thank you for all the guidance shared here.

UKVCAS clearly has told not to book dual submission as it may delay your application further. Good luck.

@gag285

I agree, the focus was put back to Aug/Set Set(O) applicants especially IDV only users. However, they are still reviewing October applicants (e.g. fb user SET(O) Ancestry applied on 11/10/20 having in person appoint on 06/11/20 who got approval on 10/11/20).

I second this. My experience with the MP is a bit of an awkward one in term of the timing but I am pretty sure mine could be one of the most promptly nationwide (perhaps due to 94% native English in demographic survey so not that many people reaching out for visa or settlement matter I reckon).

1st email from MP 28.10.2020
MP issued letter to director general UKVIS 04.11.2020
UKVIS replied today 12.11.2020

Not sure this will help or hinder my application yet but if anyone’s keen to have a reference on timeline then here you go.

Indeed, it has just gotten random. I think the only complication with my application is that I have not applied for my children born in the Uk although they had PBS dependent leave. I did explain it in the cover letter but I have heard they may not read it. But if that’s the case I would expect to hear about it from them which hasn’t happened either. Makes me nervous it has landed in some waiting for enquiries queue.

On the earlier comment on dual submission, yes I booked the appointment before the UKVCAS guidelines were released asking people not to book face to face appointments if they have sumitted their documents and biometrics via the app. Indeed they cancelled my appointment as expected.

Well it’s not strictly generic per se but tailored to the initial query, mine was more on challenging the suspension of priority service rather than a straightforward expedition of my case.

I did however include some medical evidence to rely on compassionate ground but from the look of it, it is very difficult to prove a “life or death” case anyway, as in very rarely would a doctor put something down in writing like I think XYZ will die in 20 days
I mean even for terminally ill cases, it still deemed unprofessional to declare precisely an exact time but a time range rather.

Yes this is normal, you would not receive any communication usually before the approval email. Few people have received delay email in between.

Hi Experts,

I have a question regarding my babies immigration status.I have submitted my ILR application on 01 Oct 2020, attended inperson biometrics on 27 Oct 2020 and waiting for decision. My baby was born here and her visa got expired on same date as mine(28 Oct 2020). I have not applied for dependent ILR or whatever is called because she is eligible for BC after getting my ILR.

Is it legal to stay here without having visa or BC? Does HO question on why I have not applied for ILR for my baby?

Please keep any follow up questions in your own thread. This thread is to discuss general biometrics related topics not case specific questions. Your UK born baby is fine. HO may write to you regarding your UK born baby. You can simply write back letting them know you will register baby as BC after your ILR.
