Docs Received Today 12/09/08

Post by doordarshini » Fri Sep 12, 2008 5:03 pm

Hi Guys,

I received my docs back today

Visa Type: Extension from HSMP -> Tier 1
Applied : 3rd July 2008
Ref no Received: 4th July 2008
Approval Letter: 29th August 2008
Visa stamped : 8th Sep 2008
Visa Valid Until: 29th August 2011
Received : 12th Sep 2008
Points Claimed: 80
Points Allocated: None

No URT sent.

In the approval letter it was mentioned that it was consider according to high court judgment and under HSMP rules before 2006. I also remember someone else in the forum mentioning the same. In fact i won't get enough points under old system.

Kind of straight forward application

Both dependent and my passports are received in the same envelop.

Good luck to all those waiting.

Hi,

I thought to share my info.

Applied on: July 14
Ack Received: July 15
Approved: Aug 29
Stamp: Sep 4
Doc received: Sep 12

I have one doubt...in the visa page it states valid until: 29 Aug / Août 11.
What is that Août ?
Do I need to get this clarified from HO.

Just my opinion......"if it takes long.....may mean result positive"

Cheers

Got Tier 1 visa (new application) at Mumbai VFS, Hooray

Post by neeraj_chennai » Sat Sep 13, 2008 6:25 am

hi guys,

got my Tier-1 visa yesterday, stamped for three years, feels good :D
would like to thank ppl in this forum for all the help. this is a great place for applicants.

My details are given below:

Applied: 11th Aug 2008 at VFS, Mumbai South
Points claimed for attributes: Salary 45 + Qualification 30 = 75 only
(as my MBA college was not on calculator and while I had applied for NARIC assesment, it was taking time. In fact, I haven't got NARIC letter till date  )
Integra Verification: My company got a call asking whether I work there or not, on 18th Aug
VISA stamped date: 10th Sep (took 19 working days) :D

Documents submitted:
Education:
1) Graduation degree and marksheets
2) MBA degree and marksheets (even though was not claiming points)

Salary
1) Stamped and signed slips
2) Bank statement showing credits
3) Income tax returns
4) Salary certificate from company mentioning last 12 month salary details

English Language:
my graduation university (University of Indore) was on the NARIC database points calculator

Maintenance funds:
I had 5000 GBP equivalent lying in a savings account (not salary account) for a long time. Gave that statement and also a letter from the bank stating the minimum balance

I also submitted some other documents to make my application stronger, as suggested by ppl in the forum. There include:
1) My resume
2) All prior work experience certificates
3) My job potential in UK (gave a write-up and gave print outs of e-mails that I have exchanged with some potential employers, even though I haven't got an offer yet)
4) Accomodation proof (hotel reservation in London for 10 days)
5) Print out of calculator on-line assesment
6) Marriage certificate
7) 10th and 12th certificate and marksheets

Out of the above, 2), 4), 5), 6) and 7) were also advised by VFS.

Imp. tip: Call VFS helpline and discuss list of documents needed, that is very helpful.

Also, made each section separate with separate cover letters.

Will be glad to help anyone else ..

Meanwhile, focussing on my job search ..

Bye

Neeraj

Docs Received Today 13/09/08

Post by Manny » Sat Sep 13, 2008 3:42 pm

Hi,

I've been following this forum for some weeks now and it's given me loads of comfort. I got my Tier 1 visa this mornng and it's got to be the fastest (without UT) judging by the comments I've read so far. My details:

Applied for Tier 1 (from Science & Engineering Grad Scheme, SEGS)
Posted application on 26th July, 2008
PB reference # given on 28th July,
Fee deducted on 29th July
Visa approved 7th September
Stamped 10th September
Docs and passport received 13th September, exactly 7 weeks after posting!!! Feels good :D

Funny thing, the behaviour of the postman. It came in a signed for recorded envelope but the guy just shoved it into my letterbox without ringing and asking me to sign for it - very strange!!!!

Keep up the good work guys!!!

Hi all,
As people always put it, finally my day has come. I got my Tier 1 today.
For all still waitng do not lose hope. The passports will return and remember 'no news is good news, I know this is easier said than done but just keep the faith. My timelines are here below.
Application sent: 28th June
Date of approval: 27th August
Date of stamping: 6th September
Valid untill : 27th August 2011.

I had 2 dependants and no UT sent. All documents are back together no prepaid envelope was enclosed. No cover letter was sent and one of my fears was that the middle name used on my payslips was not in my passport. So for those really worried about some missing/Unclear details take heart, It doesnt mean its a NO for you.
Lastly I want to thank all those who have posted in this forum especially past week and especially June applicants for the encouragement and responses to my questions which kept me going during this trying period. I wish you all success and pray that all goes well for you. Please ask any questions .I'll be glad to answer them.
God bless you all

Miria

applied 14 july 2008
payment deducted 15th july 2008

29th July 08 were the applications processed last week... it seems there is something wrong, either the cc has not given the right info, or the systems are not updated, can someone try to call HO again and check the date they processiong today,

as Usually every monday, systems are updated and they move ahead with the dates, (1 week) in batches......

Switching from WP holder to Tier1 dependent whilst in UK

Post by newbie01 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 1:02 pm

I am a WP holder in UK , my wife is also a work permit holder here, can she apply as a dependent on me in the same application when
I applying for Tier1?

However the homeoffice site states:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... dantroute/

This page explains the circumstances in which you can apply for
permission to stay here as the dependant of someone who is already
here in the highly skilled worker category (Tier 1 General) without
having to leave the United Kingdom and apply for entry clearance
(permission to come to the United Kingdom).

How you can switch in to the dependant route
You can apply for permission to stay here as the dependant of a highly
skilled worker without having to leave the United Kingdom and apply
for entry clearance if your last grant of entry clearance or
permission to stay here was as the partner or child of:

an innovator;
a participant in the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme;
a participant in the International Graduates Scheme (or the previous
Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme);
a postgraduate doctor or dentist,
a student;
a student nurse;
a student re-sitting an examination;
a student writing up a thesis; or
a work permit holder.
