I hope I am asking the questions in the right thread..
I am due to apply for an extension of my husband's spouse visa.
I have however not be able to secure a permanent job. I'd like to kindly check if I can apply with the following payslips under Category B:
Feb 2019: Maternity Allowance: £594
March 2019 : Maternity Allowance: £594
April 2019: Maternity Allowance: £382
May 2019: nil
June - September: Contract job on a weekly pay summing up to £5659
October 2020 to Jan 2021: Starting another contract job £9.50 paid weekly for at least 12 weeks hopefully summing up to £4104 . My husband and I have got the same job so this will be multiplied by two. Total is £8208.
Second job for me alone for the same period £9.11 for 12 weeks is £4372.
My husband is also an accessor for a university and is being paid per number of scripts marked. He has earned £4000 from May -Dec 2020.
Total of all is ££23809
He will be applying with our son so the financial threshold is £22400.
Can we combine all these income to meet the requirements under Category 2 please?
Total is
seagul wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:17 pmFor category B you and/or your partner must have earned at least £22400 during the last 12 months counting from the date of application. Also, you and/or your partner must have been employed at an income of at least £22400 at the time of application. Have a look on the following guidance to know more about it and other possible ways to meet the requirement:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... gov-uk.pdf
If the child is British citizen then the threshold will be £18600.
Fine
Both jobs are acceptable, albeit, through permanent job which often is a salaried job makes the calculations relatively easier, where the income level at the time of application is mattered instead following the none-salaried income calculations.
Perhaps you mean that the new job offer will pay £23000 per annum. One point is noteworthy, that for meeting the financial requirement, it is not mandatory whether the job is temporary or permanent provided the required level of threshold getting met.Halimat wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 11:24 pmMy husband has been offered a job which pays him £2300 per annum. He will prefer to continue with the temporary weekly one which we both do from home. However we will like to know if we will meet Part B of category B before he turns down the job offer .
Our son is not a British citizen
I will look forward to your kind response.
Thank you for your kind response. I have tried to do the calculations using the non-salaried income and I figured out that we will still meet up if we delay our application till January. Their visa expires in February so we are fine.seagul wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 4:40 amFineBoth jobs are acceptable, albeit, through permanent job which often is a salaried job makes the calculations relatively easier, where the income level at the time of application is mattered instead following the none-salaried income calculations.Perhaps you mean that the new job offer will pay £23000 per annum. I will try to apply for exemption to pay for the application fees close to the time of application. I am hoping that it will be granted.
I have just one more question please. Their passports have expired and the Nigerian Embassy have still not gotten back to us with an interview date. So we could apply with the expired passport and explain the reasons for this right ? Yes, and supply details or documents of correspondence with the embassy to show you have actually made efforts to get a new valid passport.
Can he still use his old UK Naric Exemption Certificate that he used before ? The Certificate of Compatibility was issued the first time so I believe that should be sufficient? Yes
Once more thanks for your help. It's being invaluable.
Remember that date of the submission of application is the date of application, therefore, make sure to have earned/have been earning sufficiently till/on that date.
All above clearly of going out of the remit of the latest 12 months unless you are aiming to be benefited by the covid temporary concession, by which you must have earned sufficiently till March 2020 due to have/have been suffering with a temporary loss in earnings.
There is no exemption over the application fee during the pandemic rather the only available concession is for income requirement where the furlough income would be considered as 100%.

We are putting in our application this month. For the spouse visa extension we selected "family visa," for the visa type not "settlement" . Is this correct please? family
The reason why I am asking is because some of the questions asked are new. Questions like do we have somewhere else to live if we can't be in UK , do we have family and friends outside UK. Do myself and my husband (applicant) share bills etc. That's the way the application questions have been worded and this is regarding in situation if they are about to refuse your application.
I just need to know we are applying under the right visa .
Thanks for your response..I have just one more question please. I have two jobs. They are both contract roles. One ends on the 3rd of January 2021 . The other is a roll over contract which is continuos for now . We are unable to meet the threshold with only one job.TODMATT wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:41 pmHalimat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 1:02 pmHi Again,

My husband's works as accessor with Cambridge and he is being paid quarterly. The contract doesn't stipulate how much he earns as this may vary. With my first job I will earn £17550 per annum so we only need to show an extra £4850 from any other job. I am unsure how to prove he earns up to this per annum because he is being paid depending on how much scripts he marks. How long does he receive his payslip for his work carried out and it's obvious he's non salaried
I am starting a new role 11th of January and will do this concurrently with my first job. Should I wait till receivinh my first weekly pay in January before we apply ? With my two jobs I will earn about £36000. Is new role going to be salaried or non salaried? Remember as per guidance both are calculated differently under CAT B
However visa runs out on 12 Feb so I wanted to submit my application today. If we decide to submit today, my other job ending on 3rd January still count ? Just be patient since leave is due to end in Feb 12 so you are better off wait till you start working with current employer and apply under CAT B.
I will also suggest you to thread carefully before applying and ensure you meet both conditions of CAT B.
I will be grateful for your response.
