The brp card - does it not come with 10 years of validity anymore? Is there a thread i can follow please if I posted on a wrong thread.. - I have read that currently these are valid until 31 Dec 2024 due to an EU regulated security feature constraint
Oh okay, thanks for the info, could not find anything on the UK gov website so thought to check :)
We cannot share links in here google 'why does BRP expire on 31 Dec 2024?' and you will get answers in forums.

No one has ever said an official weblink cannot be posted!!!

https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... rt-problem

If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024
You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but you have leave to stay longer.

UKVI will update their information on how to update your BRP in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

I am following this website from May this year. Lots of thing I learnt from you guys, you are doing really great job. I just want to let you know that my visa application has been successful on 12/11/2020 after 6 months.
I am not sure about it’s connection but my application was approved just within 10.5 hour after making a complaint on “Waiting for a decision or documents” at https://www.ukvi-complaints.homeoffice.gov.uk/reason.
(Also, it’s been 4 days, I haven’t received any reply about my complaint. Even I don’t care now)
You can try this if you want as it’s free to complaint on this link (if you completed 6 months, recommended)

I applied for my Tier 2 visa on 05 June 2020, received Biometric reuse email from UKVCAS on 01 Aug 2020 and Invitation to use the new UKVCAS IDV app on 04 Sep 2020. I submitted my details online on IDV app around 07 Sep 2020. When I haven't received any decision from UKVI then I book for Biometric appointment and provide my biometric on 01 Oct 2020. Approved on 12 Nov, now waiting for BRP.

Thanks to everyone.

Somebody reported contacting their MP within like 6-7 weeks of their application and getting a response after the MP escalated. This seems odd because I was hearing (not sure where) that UKVI were not taking escalations any more and escalating within 6 months is anyways unlikely to yield anything. This makes me curious now as there are people here who have been waiting for much longer but as CULLINAN would put it not playing the MP card until 6 months are over.

I read the timeline post too, and was also wondering the same, as my application was submitted earlier than the timeline of the post... It may just be a coincidence of timing - that somebody's case might have been on the verge of being processed anyway. Honestly think it's not a strong case to escalate through MP only after <4 weeks of biometrics.

Couldn't agree more. I am stressed but understand that some people are just plain lucky.

To answer, I submitted mine on 01st Oct with in person biometrics on 23rd Oct with nothing so far. I think swift decisions ended in the week commencing 26th Oct. I know at least two in this forum who have a similar timeline as mine and awaiting decision.

Thanks, ya, it seems some are lucky, someone gave biometric on 29th Oct and got a decision on 4th Nov as pe r the ILR timelines posts, and some gave on 15th oct and got decision on 8th Nov.

Hi All,

Need advise. I received my Set LR - IlR BRP card and the HO approval email says to you cut the previous grant of leave and send to their address, My question is my earlier visa was Tier 2 General which is still valid until 2022, should I still need to cut & send it ?

Thanks
Ravi

Obviously. Why would you need to keep your Tier 2 BRP when you have ILR BRP???

If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024
You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but you have leave to stay longer.

UKVI will update their information on how to update your BRP in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

Yes, I already said this last week. Things have gone to a standstill with lockdown 2.0
What a pain  . I am to receive a job offer which I cannot accept without ILR

Looks like MPs are helping people who have job offers to accept.

Hi Gilo, yup set M applicant, (partner), here also, applied 02/09/20, face-to-face appt 16/09/20. There are others in the forum also, plus some June/July applicants still waiting I believe. Patience is a virtue in the absence of effective communication from HO on application status- the decision will come!

HO should change BC rule to 6Y/11Y rather than ILR+1 Year to ease some of the wait time pain folks are going through. Especially with these lock downs.

Approvals have definitely slowed down with the impact of lockdown 2.0. Maybe more HO workers are working from home now.
Hi ,
I submitted my set o application on Jun still I have not got any decision from home office . Could you answer me for the below question please?
1.Do I need to wait until 6 months to complete for escalate or can I escalate atleast 15 days before?
2.My dependents visa is going to expire in January and they are having 35days shortage to eligible for ILR . Which category visa i need to apply for them?
3. How many years i need to apply for IHS?
4. Do I need to apply visa for them 20 days before their current visa expires?
5. Can I change my employment while application in home office for ILR?
6. Is anyone is like me who applied in June and still waiting for decision?
Thanks

This topic is only for biomteric queries etc.

Please ask your dependent application question in your own topic, ie start a new topic!!

5. You cannot change your employment until you have ilr and your ilr brp. Until ilr is granted, you can only work for your tier 2 sponsor.
