Ceremony Invitation letter received.

I must say that the model by baybars1 is absolutely spot on for Spet approval as well.

"08/09/2020 - - - 06/11/2020 - - - from 13/11/2020 - - - to 27/11/2020"

Applied 21 May; approved 11-Sept.

and the date on the invitation letter is 4/11 (model prediction is 6/11 - this is as good as you can expect).
I made an enquiry (Citizenship.Support@homeoffice.gov.uk) and I was told that the letter and the certificate were sent on 11/11 so it is to be noted that the print date is not the same as the dispatch date. I received the letter today 19/11 and my council received the certificate on 12 or 13th I guess but I was contacted on 16th Nov.
Congratulations and goood luck with the ceremony.

How long did it take for Citizenship.Support to reply to you?
I emailed them on 02 Nov but they haven't replied yet.

Thank you
Hi
I wrote them on 18 Sept (repeated the same email on 11 Nov) and they got back to me on 17th Nov. They replied to my 18 Sept Email.
Thank you. Were you offered a virtual or face-to-face ceremony at Coventry?

I just had my ceremony today. It literally took less than 10 minutes for affirmation and national anthem. Only me, registrar and photographer was there. It was optional to buy photographs but paid £13 for digital photo with queen portrait and british flag and piad £8 for passport size photo which will use for online passport application. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting and hope you all get it soon
Hello I thought no photos allowed in the ceremonies? Did anyone have any experience at KCC MAIDSTONE? Any answer really appreciated. Thank you
They had photographer in Ceremony room and take picture when you receive certificate and then up to you if you buy or not. He also offered passport size photo which is great as you need them for passport application

Hi

Post citizenship ceremony the ILR BRP has to be cut and returned to Home office. Is there any value of photocopying the ILR and getting it certified at the post office ?

Thank you

Greetings, all good people of this thread.
So.
Approval letter - 18.08.
Certificate received by Hounslow council- 18.11 .
13 weeks.
Lady called me back ( on my request by email )and confirm- it's there.
And she asked me if I have an Invit. letter.
Well, I am still abroad, recently have changed my address in London , confirmation from HO came already .
So I am chasing both addresses for meaningless piece of paper, as she told me that I must have it...
Please inform me, guys- do I have to be physically present in UK for virtual ceremony ?
People who have attended virtual ceremonies - how did you present your Inv. letter to the council ?
Is that time for attending Ceremonies has being prolonged ?
Many thanks for all of you , especially to Baybars.
You've saved me from became pacient of mental hospital...

Hounslow does not offer virtual ceremony as far as I know. You should have the HO invitation letter also before you can book a ceremony, not only approval letter. I think hounslow is one of the stricter councils in regards to this.

Am I the only one who's shocked to see that some councils are trying to profit greatly from the lockdown, having suspended public ceremonies and 'offering' only Private ceremonies, or worse, Virtual ceremonies for which they charge up to £200 (!!!) while some others are doing it for free...
Home office should step in to avoid these money grubbing practices..

I agree with you. Wandsworth council charges £100 for private virtual ceremony. £100 for 10 minutes ceremony, this is ridiculous

I agree and I find it appalling.
£80 have been paid with the application fee for the group ceremony which contained a lot more than now (as not possible due to restrictions having a photographer, a mayor, speeches, singing, tea and cake).

I do understand the restrictions but instead of making things easier with a very simple max 10 minute ceremony they seem to take advantage of the situation.
We all pay council tax to our councils, we are part of this community but instead of to prevail common sense and to make it a bit easier they charging horrendous amounts for something that shouldn’t cost anything on top of that what was paid in advance.

My council charges £206 (makes it £286 in total!) for a 5 minute private ceremony with no guest.
In times of furlough most people might have less money than usually.
People booking private ceremonies as their actual ceremony might be weeks away and that people want to get it done after all that they have been through is quite understandable.

I have decided now against a private ceremony. However I have written to my MP about these costs and put in a complaint to the council in writing.
These costs and taking advantage of our wish to get that process done is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.

Also, a friend of mine was approved on 10th by email and it says 12 week waiting period on her letter as well.

My approval letter was sent via post printed on 10th Nov, it does not state any 12 week wait and so does @Nature11 as above who was sent approval by post on 19th Nov. We only got our approvals by post after we received a survey online but no decision via email. We made enquiry and decision was sent via post. This is a possibility our decisions were made earlier but not pushed, hence no 12 weeks wait mentioned. Maybe.

Hi everyone! Cullinan you have been so great in the appointment thread Im glad to see you have got your acceptance.

Can someone please confirm? I have just got my acceptance via email - but on the letter it has OUR REF: XXX and then below it, it says YOUR REF: YOUR REF - no number?

Should I email them back and say there is an error on the acceptance letter, it doesnt have my ref?

Applied: 16th Sep
Biometrics: 5th Oct (IDV + in-person)
Council: Westminster

no date or deadline for the ceremony only this >> "We will write to you again when we have despatched your certificate to your local authority. In that letter we will provide details for you to then contact your local authority to book onto a ceremony, at which you will be presented with your certificate of British citizenship."

"due to the changing restrictions and guidance relating to COVID-19, it is not possible at this time to advise when your certificate will be despatched. We will update or website with any new information, in particular in relation to the time it might take to despatch certificates." Do you have these sentences in your letter, @CULLINAN?
