Does automatic stamp 4 extension apply to the people outside state

Post by Doc1 » Sat Nov 28, 2020 5:39 am

I would be grateful if someone can answer my query.
I am naturalized Irish citizen. Two of my childern are naturalized Irish citizens and one is Irish by birth. My wife belongs to Non-EEA visa required country and her naturalisation application is under process for 3 years.
We travelled back to Pakistan during pandemic and her stamp 4 expired. We wish to travel back to Ireland now. What will be the process now to travel back when my wife's stamp 4 has expired?
Anyone in the same situation or anyone has an idea how to resolve this issue?
Thank you

She needs to apply for an entry visa from your local embassy.

Agree with Littlerr, you need to submit visa application to consulate in Karachi, it should be straightforward

I am in a similar boat..What should be the visa category? There is no entry visa option in the inis visa application website. Do we need to select employment visa then we need employment permit?

Basically the purpose of visa is to come to Ireland to get extension of stamp 4 i imagine so i guess you can apply under visit visa category and explain your cause in a cover letter

That’s incorrect. Visit visas will not be accepted under the current situation. The purpose of visit is not to get an extension of Stamp 4 either (unless you obtained your Stamp 4 based on IIP scheme). The purpose of visit should be reside (I.e. Type D long stay, with the exception of EUTR).

I just checked AVATS now and it should have all the visa types. If you have a Stamp 1/4 based on employment permits, you should select employment. As long as you have a current IRP card, you should not need your original employment permit. If your permission is based on your spouse/child, there is the Join Family, with a number of different subtypes to select from (Irish, EU, non-EU, de facto etc).

Thanks for advice.
Issue is that I am outside the state as well. There is a requirement of number of documents for join family entry visa, like bank statements, proof of address etc.

There should be relatively few documents that you need to prepare, other than your passport and your IRP.

You need to contact your local embassy for details.

See Q 7 on INIS’s Q&A document.
