Wife's visa extension granted. On a five year route now. First extension after 30 month spouse visa expired.

ESCALATE CASE :10/7/20 REFUSED
Visa granted. : 17/11/20 EMAIL GRANTED
BRP. : WAITING

I phoned immigration on 10/11/20 to ask for application to be escalated. Was told that the new government policy is NOT TO ESCALATE case after 8 weeks. Just sit and wait.
Being self employed I had some worries about documentation concerning this. Thankfully everything turned out fine.

Posting about my husbands application.

Application submitted on May 12th 2020
Biometrics and documents uploaded on 22nd September 2020 va IDV app only.

Have heard nothing since biometrics, no acknowledgements, no delay emails nothing at all. Called visa & immigration helpline on Monday 23rd November to escalate case, were told by adviser 6 months is nothing and to keep waiting! he also said they have no information about cases and cannot do anything about them.

Very dejected as it's been nearly 7 months since application was submitted and 9 weeks since biometrics. Anyone else with the same timeline as us?

I did not book an appointment for biometrics because I never saw any available. Found out later that they release appointments at midnight every night. It seems everyone who rejected the app and went in in-person has gotten approved within a week or so. I really regret submitting through the app.

I booked a flight for 9 December to go back to the States for Christmas and to care for my grandmother who has had surgery and is really ill. I'm going through various escalations to try to get a decision before my flight in 2 days....

I was able to book a free f2f appointment after already using the IDV app and I honestly don’t think it does help in making application decision quick.

I booked a flight for 9 December to go back to the States for Christmas and to care for my grandmother who has had surgery and is really ill. I'm going through various escalations to try to get a decision before my flight in 2 days....

I ended up having to cancel this flight and will be rebooking, now that I've received my decision.

***Further to my previous post, I have now received my acceptance email. Still awaiting the letter and BRP. Having gone through this experience, I would fervently suggest that if you can get an in-person biometrics appt to go for that, as it seems those decisions are made faster. I also had a situation of compassionate circumstances for an expedited delivery and had my MP (who was fantastic) intervene on my behalf. I believe this was essential in getting an expedited decision, and the fact that my case was extremely straightforward. I am very grateful to these boards for helping me navigate the situation and hopefully this post will help someone else***
