That’s not true... back in September and October there were a lot of people who got it after one week of appointment but many others have been waiting. And since October I don’t think people are getting approvals within a week anymore.

I think I will email my MP today. Even though I am well within 6 months... but it’s been 3 months, I am losing patience.

Agree recent decisions have been slow especially with lockdown 2.0
Lockdown 2.0 ended today, let's hope this means we all get decisions quicker again 🤞
Sorry for being negative but I think almost same restrictions apply now after the lockdown is over albeit some businesses opening. During the second lockdown, UKVCAS centers remained open and UKVI decisions were trickling in too. I suspect there is more at play here. I have seen people on FB forums having applied in August (Set O) still waiting. These are not all IDV applicants either. An interesting observation however is that most of them have added dependents on their application. My feeling is that those with dependents is either low priority (i might go as far as saying people not seen as useful immigrants, please no offense to anyone. I am on of them) or there are checks that they need to essentially do for such applicants and that is slow plus and even if the response comes in, the case is at the back of the queue by then.
I wouldn’t think of us as undesirable lol... if we are that undesirable they wouldn’t give us a path to settlement at all (e.g. T2 ICT or T5) which is completely within their control. It seems to be it’s just a very disorganized and inefficient organization. Something that would have taken 24 hours pre-COVID is taking months now. I can’t think of any reason. They could do a better PR job by at least explaining why WFH or COVID has led to the delay. The reason could be lame but at least we would have a reason to try to believe in.

The trouble is they are not obliged to and so they won't. Their delay email just says one line reason - due to COVID we can't decide your application in 6 months period. Also, in response to an RTI I came across online, most settlement applications were on priority fee where the applicant's were allowed to. So its baffling how they were able to decide most applications on priority previously with the same staff unless there was an AI element at play. COVID-19 is indeed a factor but with work done online, I would expect them to at least decide in double the time if not the same especially while urgent services are not in the picture.
Besides, on the Undesirables issue , I think that was settled when the country voted out of EU. So I would say we are in the necessary undesirables category (again no offense please, its just banter). Path to settlement is necessary IMHO otherwise the necessary flow of immigrants will start looking elsewhere.

Does anyone have any data on how long ILR Set(o) average wait time for decision now that Nov is finished?
I don't think anyone took interest to compile an average wait time given people were receiving Set O decisions within a week
If only I was so lucky.... :|
Really frustrating how the wait times are all over the place and decisions come in at any time and there is no clarity on whether the wait starts from the application submission date or biometrics submission date...
My solicitor told me the dates applications were submitted or biometrics were done will become irrelevant once an application is allocated to a case worker. It depends on how quickly a case worker can progress applications / complexity of cases. That's why we are seeing no pattern on application submission or biometric date with a date that a decision is being made.

Tbh that is the most logical information I have heard, coming out of a solicitor's mouth. It just depends on the caseworker. Don't forget they have 6 months for every application.

Yeah, I think there are key milestones for an application to go ahead:

1. Application submission date (added to virtual queue I guess, but not a major milestone)

2. Documents submission date - this is key because UKVI gets required info. The caseworker cannot make a decision without mandatory/supporting documents, so no point in allocating a caseworker until after this stage. If an applicant goes for "Document Checking Service" they are basically asking for the delay.

3. Biometrics - if it's not submitted or any issue with Biometrics then they can't approve or print BRP. Also, at this stage, additional docs can be mentioned/uploaded by UKVCAS that applicant could've missed.

4. Caseworker allocation (assuming this happens between 2&3 and if everything in order, then caseworker could provisionally approve the application subjected to Biometrics submission). Hence, we could see some applications being approved within days of submitting the Biometrics.

5. Complex cases or missing documents, etc. - how quickly enquires can be completed, docs requested via email, how quickly the applicant responds and caseworker putting aside enough time to go through the whole case/notes and review new evidence, etc. It's human nature to procrastinate difficult/complex work, so they'll get put back of the queue until they can block half a day or more I'd imagine. Also, standard SLAs don't apply so they can get away with delays.

I'm not sure if having dependents make much difference apart from a bit extra time to review each dependent's application/documents.

Single applications are like quick wins, so caseworkers may process them to bump up their stats or feel good that they cleared several applications in a day/week. After all, don't we do the same at work?
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Hi All,

I have put together list of SET(0) application for Oct, I hope this helps anyone looking for a trend.
according to the list below it looks like HO is considering application based on date of application.

I have put together names of people who are awaiting decision so that I can update my list easily.

This is absolutely brilliant - i wished somebody would have enough time to make it because we all see random timelines/answers being added to the forum and specifically for SET O ILR there wasn't a unified view of majority of mentions. Thank you so much for making this neat post. Gives me hope that October decisions are rolling out!

This is brilliant work thanks! I didn't want to get my hopes up of getting a decision soon but this is quite encouraging.. Can you include how many dependents each application had? Looks like this is a factor that affects the timelines.

This is AMAZING! Thanks you @ameraj1

As a Nov applicant, this gives me a better picture of what sort of timeline and expectation to set for myself. Based on the data of everyone that received a decision the majority of decisions came between 3.5-4 weeks after biometrics were submitted. There are a few outliers that had decisions in 2 weeks or 6 weeks, but it looks like the bulk of everyone in Oct received a decision 4 weeks after biometrics. :o

Brilliant! Thanks Ameraj. The only extra column I'd probably add is the "DocsSubmitted" date and those who are still awaiting decision and new applicants can keep the table up-to-date.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Thanks @Ameraj1
There is a heart breaking post for many in the above list, Just saw in the timelines which you may want to include to the Set (O) list.
This one broke every record for approvals

Application| Biometrics | -Decision- |Name
31.10.2020| 30.11.2020| 02.12.2020|samuk2021
Maybe the fastest in current scenario but have seen application date to approval in just 7 days in the past. I think this was in early October Set O applicant
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.
