That worries me cause I haven't received any acknowledgement...even sent them another letter asking if they received the documents and no response...so frustrating

That's strange, and certainly worrisome.
I haven't been in that situation nor know anyone who has so I dont know how best to advise you but if it were me, I will reach out to them again till I receive some form of acknowledgement

They got back to me today asking for a DNA test from child and other biological parent.
That's insane if you ask me...they should have asked for that on the beginning...what a waste of time!!!

Does the ruling of zambrano have anything to do with the relationship between the biological parents or is it just the role of the parent in the child's life??

Nothing to do with other biological parent
as long as you play the role of your irish citizen child

But the reason I have to go for a DNA test is cause they say that the relationship with the other parent is not a subsisting relationship. Which is pathetic?!

Everything is going to be fine.
Just make sure you do the DNA as requested by the minister of justice via a court approved DNA testing centre.
Morealso, try to look for a quick appointment for the DNA test.
It usually costs 600 euros
After testing, your results will be out in 2 weeks after which a copy of the DNA results will be forwarded to you and the Residence DIVISION for verification and onwards approval.

I wish you Goodluck

That's great that you were able to secure a really quick appointment. How much is the DNA test and was a representative from the residency unit present ?

It was like 590 euros.
No representative apparently since covid no one from the unit comes
