Hello,

Me & my wife have our OCI & now im applying for oci for my minor kids. Both Kids, as well as me and my wife, have British passport.

Im unsure as to what should be selected as an answer in the family details section for kids oci application.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello mpunaskar, were you able to find the answer to this ? I think it should be parent as you have your OCI, which you need to attach in document upload.

I also am in same situation and have a query . what all documents have you attached for you kids OCI application

I am submitting.
> babys' British passport
> Parents OCI card
> Babys' UK birth certificate. (does this needs to be attested )

any other document ?

Thanks

If you held an Indian passport at any time, you are classified as the "root".

You are the child's father, so please select that option.

Also, if you want to avoid hassles now or later down in life, I suggest you apostille the birth certificate.

When we got birth certificate from the council, we also asked for certified copies of birth certificate. Im attaching both with oci application.

I attached same for my son's oci application 5 years ago and they accepted it.

Certified is not the same as apostilled. An apostilled document is at a higher level. Courts and public authorities in India have to accept an apostilled document by law - they don't have to accept a certified copy and can always reject it.

Hi There, do you know who Apostille my documents? Is it the Indian Embassy or any UK body is fine?
https://www.gov.uk/get-document-legalised would this work?

Thanks
Avais
