@Nature11

Read the ceremony invitation from HO. It tells you exactly what to do with ILR - BRP and when and where to return it.
As London goes in Tier 4 lockdown - I hope ceremonies will go ahead as planned.. but please keep me posted as yours is @23rd Dec .. thank you.
@CULLINAN
I am not sure council will remain open in Tier 4 . guidance says all non-essential venues and well being centre will be closed from tomorrow. I hope they are doing ceremonies in Tier 4. let me know if you have any update buddy.
I think ceremony will go ahead as planned. Ceremonies continued in previous Nov lockdown also. They have strict measures in place. I do not think you will have any issues but please keep us posted. Thanks
I hope so. I will update

Hi lovely people,

Have been a silent reader for couple of months now. Just thought I should share my application update. Just received a letter today 19th Dec from Kent Council inviting me for a ceremony on the 21st of Jan 2020 Meanwhile I haven't received HO LETTER YET.
Application date 27th May 2020
Biomatric invitation 27th August 2020 ( By App)
Approval Email 7th October 2020
Council letter dated 17 December 2020

From the look of things HO is still sending certificate to Councils but the whole process seems to be a massive mess. So October approvals please check with your councils

Good luck to those waiting for HO letter.
I too received this invitation letter from Kent Council to attend ceremony on the 21/01/21 but no letter from HO yet, my approval was on the 5/10/20. So very similar to NinashK. It's progress but it does say I need the letter from HO so will need to wait for that first.

Update:
Approved on 1st October, spoke to HO and they said, as expected- things are taking longer due to Covid-19.
They confirmed my invitation hasn't been printed and despatched it. I have asked to get an invitation by email and was told this is not possible due to security reasons. Not sure what they mean by that as they've sent the approval document by email.

Still waiting. Just finishing week 12 now. :(

Thank you guys for sharing your timeline.
Most of us approved in late October/early November are still waiting for invitation.
Please update here once you receive invitation letter/email, as it'll guide others with similar timeline to expect invitation in following weeks as well.
I'm expecting mine to receive by mid/late January (i was approved 5 Nov by email).

Hello @Nature11. I contacted them. They said no earlier date is available as of now but I have left a note in case any cancellation comes up they might contact me.
Also, they did not give any indication of ceremony cancellation in Tier4. As I said previously, your ceremony on 23rd Dec should go ahead as planned. Good luck.

My husband’s timeline:
Approved via email:9/06
Emailed MP: 7/12
Reply from MP asking for more details: 7/12
Invitation letter (email): 10/12
Private ceremony: today
Council: Barnet

At least they are starting to clear up spring approvals.
Hope those who are waiting will have theirs soon.
Thanks for posting!
Do you have any information what exactly your MP asked for? I contacted my MP about my paperwork not being issued in September, they submitted at least 4 enquiries since, but my paperwork still hasn't been issued. I'm wondering if there is wording that helps get the paperwork printed...
“just the usual info like dob, address..

24th of August approval.
I am still waiting for the invitation.
Both my council and HO are leaving me in the dark. HO tells us to wait 12 weeks, then they state that ALL approvals from August and earlier were sent out in November. I do not mind waiting for the invitation and
don´t care what method the HO is using. I would just like to know I have not been forgotten. Waiting 4 months for something that used to take 2 weeks is mad. I wish they were honest with us and gave account specific responses. I have been patient with the HO, I have only emailed them twice, however, I have made my first complaint today. I was just ignored by the Nationality Support Team and in an earlier email they told me to wait, they didn´t even bother to send the longer generic response.
Not to worry anyone, I just wanted to share my experience.

Good luck and stay strong.

I just called the HO and told them that the 12 weeks are already up. She asked about the month of my approval decision; then she confirmed that they are working on September approvals. I told her that people from November are doing their ceremonies already but she insisted that they are working on Sep approvals and I just need to wait. I hope January is our month :)

It's the standard unfortunately. Happened to me as well. My MP helped me get some updates, at least the HO has now said indeed there was some mistake which is why my paperwork hasn't been printed and they are working on fixing it.
If you are ignored by the HO support, it might be worth reaching out to your MP and asking them for help.

perhaps we'll have a ceremony together! If there's any room left on the 25th.. They said only 15 can join each ceremony and they had two available on the 25th - 10am and 1pm. Good luck!
