I had sent an email to NationalityFrontEndTechnicalSpecialists@homeoffice.gov.uk asking why I am unable to find any free appointments and they said the following,

As you have used the IDV App to submit a Selfie and Document, we have been able to reuse previous biometrics submitted. You are not required to attend a Sopra Steria Service Centre and if further information / documents are required, they will be requested when your application reaches consideration stage.

Your application is currently awaiting allocation to a Caseworker but I am unable to provide a timescale for when this will be.”😭 it’s really unfair because I’ve seen people apply after me they’ve had their applications approved already 😭. Please pray for me. I’m trusting God for my application to be approved soon in Jesus name.

Hi Cullinan

Yes me and my wife received two approval letters by post. And none of these mentions my daughter's name. I did receive an email in November just mentioning my daughter's name that it will take more than 6 months to decide. I thought after getting approvals yesterday that we all must have been approved.

You will get daughter’s approval in due course. Her certificate will be sent to your home address as she is a child and does not need to attend ceremony. You and your wife can carry on with the ceremony. Do not worry.

What is the date of application?

@mjz3

The email you received in November regarding your daughter is an automated email generated after 6 months are over.

Did you contact HO?

Contact HO via email on:

nationalityfrontendtechnicalspecialists@homeoffice.gov.uk

furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk

Have you been checking your emails including junk folder??

As long you emailed, you should hear back soon via email/or post. Note, approval letter can come via email also. So keep checking both email/post.

PS calling them is a waste.

Ohh..I should really bang my heads now.:-)
After seeing your messgae, I just double checked my letter(email attachment). The last line in the letter is saying
'your children's application also has been approved'

this is the only line they mentioned about childrens application.

This is just mentioned as the last line very close to normal bla blas (data protection act etc). This is why I haven't noticed.

I think people are thinking(at least I was), individual applicantions will get their own letter(may be send to lead applicant's email address). This is what they did during ILR time.

Thank you very much for clarification and leding me in right direction.

Today i received the certificate of registration by post for my child. Certificate is Dated the day of the emailed stating both applicants approved.
Did you get any further information about the ceremony or so?

Well, after all the trouble we went to, to find and book a biometric appointment, which was in Southampton, far from where we live, they have now cancelled it, because they aren't opening on Saturday 2nd January. Couldn't they have decided that before releasing the appointment date into the system!

I now have to find out if I can get a refund on our return rail tickets, and start searching for a new appointment all over again!!

To be honest, I have to say, we were getting concerned about travelling by public transport to that higher risk covid area.

I did suggest they start using the IDV app again, but that didn't get much traction.

Also note Southampton has been moved to Tier 4 Lockdown just now. Check the latest news. Many more areas have been moved to Tier 4 and some are moved one tier up.

Thanks, That's exactly what we feared would happen.

Our preferred choice (nearest) is Bournemouth (library), but even that is a higher risk than where we live, but is driveable. Though unfortunately I have yet to see an available appointment there, and it only opens 3 days a week.

However, if you have signed up for SMS service, you do get a confirmation SMS after your biometrics submission at UKVCAS.

Not always. Many have reported not receiving a text even when they wasted their £2 (or what you pay for it, i think its £2).

Hey Cullian, thank you for all your help and morale boosts. I've been an avid reader of this thread for a while now.

I have a quick query. I remember you emailed the HO for an update on your application. Can I please ask what address(es) you sent your email to? There are quite a few going around and I want to make sure my update query goes to an address that's manned.

Greatly appreciate your help with this.
When did you apply?
Hey Cullian,

I applied 02/07. Will be six months in a few weeks.

I plan to wait until it’s six months before emailing them, but ideally want to get this ready for then. If you could let me know the best emails to contact HO (or private message me) will be most appreciated. Thanks ;)

Hi Cullian,

Merry Christmas Eve.

Just wanted to say thanks for the email address. There are quite a few floating around - but I’m sure these you provided me help.

I couldn’t wait for the 6 months to roll by, so I sent an email to both email address on 21/12. On Tuesday (22/12) I received my approval.

I do not believe it was late or in a backlog as the letter was dated 22/12. So I believe my emails promoted them.

Thank you Cullian! This is appreciated and a great way to start the holidays.
