My caseworker has replied to an email requesting an update on the invitation that I had sent 1 week ago prior to the council even receiving my certificate. They kindly forwarded me an electronic copy of the invitation even though they had already sent it through the post. The date on the invitation is mid December and my approval was 9 October.

Hello all,

Finally received the letter through my solicitor today!

Approved on 7 October 2020
Invitation print on 16 December 2020
Received invitation on 14 January 2021
Ceremony date - Soonest free public ceremony in my council, Brent, is 17 February, any day for a private one which costs £130.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this forum. It's been really helpful to feel like one is not alone during these challenging times when we have to handle so much happening around us and still wait patiently for our paper work to be done.

Good luck to everyone waiting, I wish you hear your good news soon.
Congrats on your invitation letter. can you pls confirm if the Home office reference number to book ceremony on Invitation letter is same as the one on the approval letter?.

Thanks

Hi, does anyone know if Newham council is conducting ceremonies?? Are they doing in person or virtual ceremonies??
Thanks
Hi, when I called them last week they said group ceremonies are suspended. However, you can email the registrar to book private or use the home office reference number to book via the online portal.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I was approved on the 7th of October, but I'm yet to hear anything... I emailed the HO last week but I just got their automated response... Should I be concerned?

Thanks!

Do you know their email address?? I was trying to find on website but couldn't find it. Tried online booking system with my HO ref but system didn't find my details. I was approved on 5th Nov so I think I still have to wait.

Hi all,
Is there anyone who was approved around 19th Oct but still hasn't received any letter. Also can you please send me the email to contact HO.
I'm with croydon Council and looks like they have started virtual ceremonies. Has anyone attended one yet in croydon?

Hi aremis

I filled their online request form 2 days ago to ask if they have received my certificate and to book a private ceremony but they just emailed me a general message today and nothing related to my question. Could you please let me know when you have received your invitation and what’s the date on it?
My main issue is my post’s sometimes get lost at my address and I’m worried that I don’t receive the invitation letter.

Hi everyone,
Naturalisation submitted online on the 16th of July 2020/Biometrics appointment in September/Response received by letter on the 8th of October/In the letter i was asked to wait up to12 weeks for the invitation letter, which I've done, when this was due(late December)I wrote an email to NationalityCaseworkDecisionService@homeoffice.gov.uk with my situation, case number etc,got an answer from a very helpful and friendly case worker on the same week, telling me that the letter was printed already, and just wait for it to arrive.

Hi all

I think I spoke to soon. I got home today from work and saw my citizenship letter. It is similar to the email I received back in Oct but advising what I should do next.

I tried to book it online straight away but it won’t let me because the council couldn't find my details. I will ring them tomorrow to find out.

We are finally 2 steps closer to the BP.

Thank you all

After sending an email to my local council, reply thus

“ I can confirm we have received your paperwork from the Home Office but at present we are waiting to schedule in more dates for the Citizenship Appointments.

I will keep your email and once I know the new appointment dates – whether they are in person or virtual – I will contact you.

In the meantime, we do ask that you bear with us in the unprecedented times.

Kind Regards"

In the invitation to the virtual ceremony they ask for ID and invitation letter, but I only have received it via email.

Is this enough? Should I be waiting for the letter?

Good Morning Gillji,
I have the approval letter with 21.10.2020. The RBKC confirmed that they have my certificate. I haven't though received yet the HO Invitation Letter. Given the borough has my certificate I have tried to book the ceremony using the ref number on approval letter but does not work. Is it this number you have used to book your ceremony or perhaps on the Invitation letter you have a different number? Could you please let me know? Thank you.
