Having read the PDF regarding the temporary Affidavit that's been put in place I wonder if people who are at the second stage will be included in this

" Once completed the applicant must then send the signed statutory declaration, the appropriate fee and any other requested documentation to the dedicated postal address

So everyone pays 950 euro once approved but according to the sentence above is there an additional fee the already approved applicant has to pay? or is the sentence referring to the 950 Euro fee that will have to be paid for people at the second stage who are waiting for approval?

Nope.

They stopped asking for the fee for the most recent approvals and that is referring to them I think. My only concern was that they may get confused who paid and who did not, not that they will require some people to pay more.

Anyways the email I got didn't ask me for payment, only biometric page of my passport and the declaration.
So all is good.

Btw I was afraid that they will ask me for I picture again, and I just shaved my hair... lol

Can you paste the content of the email please?
Any deadline to send back the signed affidavit? . Have you paid your 950 Euro already and been waiting so far?

Only approved applicants will receive the declaration by email.
Others will have to wait until their application is approved and may still get invited to the proper official ceremony. This arrangements are only temporary.

I was approved in Feb 2020. Got my email this morning with the affidavit.

Wording of email -

"I refer to your application for a Certificate of Naturalisation. The
Minister proposes to grant your application for naturalisation, subject to
the completion and submission of the Declaration of fidelity to the nation
and loyalty to the State.

This declaration is attached.

What are the next steps:
· You should complete the Declaration of fidelity to the nation and loyalty
to the State in the presence of a witness who is either a notary public,
commissioner for oaths, solicitor, or a peace commissioner, and authorised
to take and receive statutory declarations. The Witness must be resident in
the State and the Declaration must be administered / witnessed in the
State.

Return the completed affidavit to

Naturalisation Certificates, Department of Justice, Rosanna Road,
Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary E34 N566

along with

· A colour copy of the biometric page of your current passport. If you do
not have a passport but hold a Travel Document issued by the Minister for
Justice please return the physical (not a copy) Travel Document with your
declaration.

· If you are a holder of a Irish Residence Permit you will need to provide
your current in-date IRP/GNIB card. If your Irish Residence Permit was
extended due to the COVID restrictions, your last card is acceptable.

· Please make sure that you write your Application Reference number and the
word ‘Declaration’ on the back of the envelope to aid identification.

If your application for a Certificate of Naturalisation is to be granted
the next letter you will receive from this office will include your
Certificate of Naturalisation. If we require additional information we will
contact you in writing .

Please Note

· The current process is time limited, therefore applicants have till the
30th of May 2021 to complete the process as set out. In the event that the
you have not returned a fully completed Declaration by the 30th of May you
will be required to attend an in-person ceremony at a date to be
determined.

· The acquisition of Irish citizenship may have implications for other
citizenships you may hold, including the automatic loss of those
citizenships. You may wish to make inquiries in this regard with the
relevant authorities of the State whose citizenship you currently hold.

· It will take up to 6 weeks from receipt of the above documents to issue
of a Certificate of Naturalisation if all of the above is in order. .
Therefore it would greatly assist us if you only contact us, after the 6
week period has elapsed and only if it is absolutely necessary, as this
will allow us to devote the maximum time to the processing of applications.

Yours sincerely,

Naturalisation Certificates Team.
Department of Justice"

Many of them work on appointment basis.

I work for a law firm in which we provide notary/commissioner of oath services, since we provide essential services, we are open and the service is done by arranging an appointment. I know of other firms that are doing the same so it shouldn't be too hard to find a solicitor to swear your document. We have also had an uptick in calls regarding the citizenship declaration so good news that they are progressing in awarding citizenship. Congrats!

I found a solicitor as well. The problem was to make a color copy of my passport. The solicitor didn't have a color printer and libraries are closed. Then I went through my old documentation pile and found a spare copy I did for my application. Lucky me. :)

Very happy for all of you, especially those who have been waiting several years. Your patience paid off!

I haven't received an email and do not expect it arrive anytime soon. If I don't get anything by the end of February, I will assume that they're really focusing on people who were not invited to the ceremonies in 2020 because of COVID.

Fair enough. This will clear out groundless speculations that approved applicant are not dealt with in fair order.
