Thanks CULLINAN for the feedback.

I'll continue to check with the tenants and keep an eye on mail

However, if it's mailed and it's lost how is one to check on the status or get it re-issued?

Yes, I did email that address as well, only received the automated response.

Junk emails checked- and nothing

I have changed address- and I have informed the Immigration Department via their recommended links.
The new tenants of my old address have not received any mail either.
There is a great possibility that your address might not be updated even after you have used the official link to update. Do keep a check with the tenant at your old address on constant basis. Ceremony invitation can be posted or emailed. Note, you would still need to attend the ceremony at the old council (the one you chose when you applied). If they carry virtual ceremony and post certificates later on, it will go to old address also (in case your address is NOT updated - many cases reported their address was not updated).

When address is changed - there is a possibility of post lost also - if current tenant(s) is not pro active.

You can only hope that HO responds back on email. If letter is lost, they can reissue also.

Hi all,

I got my ILR last year and applied for Citizenship of my son in June (he is minor and was under a Tier 2 dependent before). We submitted biometrics via mobile app in Aug and we are still waiting for a decision up until now.

We have sent e-mail to HO and they keep on saying that it is still in progress.

Last week, we have received an e-mail as a reminder to book an appointment again. We also received it last November but I have DM’d UKVI on twitter and they confirmed we don’t need to book an appointment. I also received a confirmation via e-mail from HO for this. Has anyone else received the reminder again?

Also, I used the same e-mail address when I applied for my ILR. Could this have impact on the progress of my son’s application?

Another question, I will be applying for my citizenship soon. Would it cause a problem if I use the same e-mail address again?

Thank you in advance.

Better to use a different email address for your application

Finally received my decision from the Home Office last night via email.

You were correct, they have not updated the address details on their system.

Now onto to the invitation letter!

Hi All,

Just wanted to ask about other applicants' experience who applied for Naturalisation towards the end of October 2020. From the timelines, it seems as though the application processing has really slowed down/stopped since the January lockdown (perhaps due to limited staffing). The last approvals some weeks back were from around 26th/27th October submission but since then approvals are only coming for people who applied in June/July (perhaps UKVI is trying to clear up the really old cases). Just wondering if anyone has any further information on what is going on and whether processing speed is likely to improve in February.

Also, if the Home Office system shows the application status as 'In Progress', does it mean it is being actively considered by a caseworker or that it is still in a queue. Any thoughts?

Many thanks.

People I received a letter for approval and I have to wait another one where the Home Office sends a certificate to my council and I have to book a ceremony.
But I am waiting this letter for more then 1 month. Is this normal or is this COvid fakedemic disrupting things? Do you experience similar delays? Will this be solved by end of February do you think?

The Home Office mentioned in an email that the application is progressing in the system so that made me wonder if it is now being considered by a case worker or could it mean it is still in queue.

Could mean anything. Some were told that their case has not yet been assigned to a case worker and others received a response saying that it is in progress. Neither one is an indication on how long it will take before you receive your approval.

Suggestion for booking biometrics appointments, might be helpful to new users:

You have 45 working days to book an appointment (excluding Sat/Sun) after online submission. These days biometrics appointments are running at a 28 days lag i.e. you get an appointment for the 28th day unless you get to find an earlier cancellation.

My suggestion:
1) Login UKVCAS booking system 12 AM GMT to look for appointments.

2) Look for different centres and locations if you are willing to travel.

3) Look continuously for 3/4 days regularly (after submission and before booking a slot) to find an earlier cancellation or free appointments during the day/after midnight. For free appointments look especially between 6am-9am in the morning.

4) If you fail and can not find any earlier cancellations or free appointments for next 3/4 days after submission, book one logging in at 12 AM midnight GMT. You will get one for the 28th day (has to be a week day for better availability). If the 28th day is a Sat/Sun, availability will be almost nil.

I would suggest you try your luck for 3/4 days before you book one. Once you book an appointment, you will not be able to see any more availability.

Email can take few hours to reach also. You should receive an email with the appointment confirmation QR code. Check your junk folder also.
