Manchester city council started virtual ceremony that's great news for the Manchester applicants.

Approval date: 21st of October
HO invitation printing date: 31st of December
HO invitation received by post: 25th of January

Hi has the council sent you the details about the ceremony in email yet?

Council Newham
Approval date: 28/10/2020
Invitation letter date: 07/01/202
Letter received by post 27/01/2021

Now, Newham people, are you managing to book ceremony? Please share your experience
I keep trying to book online but nothing
For people receiving their invitations in January, Newham is probably the worst council you could have picked. They have cancelled all booked citizenship ceremonies and stopped accepting new bookings until further notice.

Did anyone manage to book citzen ceremony at Westminster?
Sent the email to ask for the Zoom ceremony and no response yet... Getting quite pissed off tbh

Let me know when you hear back and I'll do the same.

Apparently, they have not held any of these new virtual ceremonies, don't know if that's true...

Hi Both, I have not received the letter from the council yet but i have just received the dial in details from the council to attend the virtual ceremony on 1st Feb 2021. It was just a calendar invitation. Nothing else.
They are doing it through Microsoft Teams.

Hopefully you both will receive soon. Although i am still surprised why i didnt get any invitation.

Did the letter say anything around when and how we will get our certificate? Can we collect in person or is it by post only?

I have my ceremony soon, next week actually! This is after 4 months of waiting however. I am a little worried as around a month ago I moved but I had already received the invite from HO. Now I informed the council registration office about this before booking the ceremony. They are fine with it but clearly said that they will only post it to address that matches with HO. They advised me to email citizenship.support@homeoffice.gov.uk with the details of new address. Now I haven't heard back from this email at all. I am worried if anyone even checks this email. I don't want to end up in a situation where it's posted to my old location and rejected. I can pick up from the council in person but I don't think they allow for it these days due to Covid. Could anyone please advise if for the address change an email to above email address is enough and that they update the address but don't inform you of that? thank you!

Hiya, i think with the volume of certificates that they have received they probably didn't manage to send letters to all. Thats great that you have gotten the invitation. When did they sent the invite was it today? They mentioned that they will send certificates on special delivery

Nothing to worry jasmine. Your gonna get the email by today or tomorrow or latest Monday. My email came from the person called Satnam Singh with the subject of citizenship ceremony. There is a link for downloading Microsoft teams and the joining link still not activated.

I emailed them with subject of " Citizenship ceremony attendance confirm".

I think the have got so many emails and they are replying one after another.

You dnt have to go physically in the office as they will not allow you in the lockdown. Just keep checking your email. Would be pleased to know that u have got it :)
