Hi guys, I'm a British citizen living in Northern Ireland, applying for Irish Naturalisation through marriage to Irish Citizen. We had been married for almost 6 years. My question is do i need to send my and my wife's original passports or just the certified copies?

I will be sending the following documents certified copies with the application:

Marriage certificate
wife's birth certificate(born in Belfast)
my birth certificate(born in India)
my and wife's driving license
spouse affidavit
2 passport size photograph

following copies only(not certified)

address proof for me and my wife
my 3 monthly payslips and bank statement
p60 for last 2 years

Thanks for your reply vorona.

Do you mean the certified copies of both passports(mine and my wife's)?

Do I need a fresh tax clearance certificate if I live in the UK?

Yes. And your original passport including any old passport you may have.
Yes.

There is no ‘tax clearance certificate’ in the UK.
What you need to do is to contact HMRC and request for a written letter indicating that your tax affairs are up to date.

And a letter from your employer confirming your employment and the date when you started working.

This is not needed, many spouses apply for irish Naturalisation who are married to irish citizen and they don't work.

ya you need to read whats needed to apply open your eyes - p60 and payslips don't need to be sent to apply for Naturalisation.

many unemployed people aswell as employed people successfully get Naturalisation

You are really struggling with reading and understanding basic English.
Just go read the guidance on the form. If you still having difficulty understanding it, ask someone to translate it into your native language or use any free online translator.

That’s incorrect. It is a black-and-white rule that letter from employer, P60s and payslips are ALL required.

From the form itself:
A letter, on headed paper, from your current employer showing the date of commencement of employment (if applicable), and copies of 3 recent pay slips (dated within the previous 6 months), and copies of your P60 or tax statement from the Revenue Commissioners for each year of residence claimed.

All i am saying is that if you are not working when you apply none of these documents are required but i know the op is working so they can supply employer letter, P60s and payslips, i'm just stating for any people who apply that they can still get naturalization even though they don't work.
