Tier 1 50k route : 2 full time requirement

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I am sorry if I have created a topic which already existed. Please direct me to the topic if my query is raised by someone.

Here is my query.
Based on the new tier 1 Case work guidance,

"If an applicant holds leave as a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) and their business has been disrupted as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, they do not need to employ at least 2 people for 12 consecutive months.
The 12 month period they are required to employ someone for can be made up of multiple jobs across different months, providing when combined this is equivalent to 2 full time jobs."

Could I interpret that I do not have to employ 2 people for 12 months each and I could have one person for 24 months instead?

Kindly help to advise please.

Scenario 1 :
2 Full time employees (30hrs/Week)
Total Number of Hours/year for 2 employees : 3120


Scenario 2 :
1 Full time employee (60hrs/Week)
Total number of Hours/Year : 3120


Scenario 3 :
1 Full time employee (40hrs/Week)
Number of months to be employed to meet 3120hrs = 1 year and 26weeks

Total hours is irrelevant - I am yet to see any reference to that, so not sure where you get the numbers from.

Scenario 1 is ok.
The other two are not.

Home office defines full time as a 30hours working week. So based on 2 employees at 30 hours each, would lead to total of 3120 hours for 12 months.

So if scenario one is correct then I need to employ 2 employees. However, my query is, could I employ one person to achieve this 3120 hours, which would be equivalent of having 2 employees according to the new guidance?

A slight change to your understanding. Home office actually defines full time as a minimum of 30 hrs per week. 60 hrs in a week is not two weeks. It is still only 1 week.
