Citizenship Application - Email Reply Content

Post by irishman003 » Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:51 pm

Hi all,

I think we have a thread regarding Citizenship Applications discussing the Content of Second Letter (official post), so I just throw this one here to discuss what email reply everybody gets to discuss and gather some ideas.

Below is the email I recently got from the team, applied in Nov 19, still waiting.

Your application for naturalisation is currently being processed with a
view to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions for the
granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for
decision when processing is complete.

The Division, like everyone in the State, has been impacted by the
restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 healthcare crisis. The restrictions
imposed have resulted in all Citizenship staff working remotely with
minimal access to the Office. Obviously these restrictions are outside of
the control of the division and have resulted in significant delays in
dealing with correspondence received in the Office and have had a negative
impact on processing times for all applications as the Division adjusts to
working in the current environment. The processing of the applications is
further impacted by the ability of Citizenship to contact other bodies,
many of whom will be negatively impacted by COVID-19.

I can confirm that the Division has engaged in concentrated effort to
process and complete all cases that remain outstanding for a considerable
period of time. Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a
decision has been reached on the application. Your patience in this matter
is appreciated.

Best of luck everyone and wish more approvals coming in 2020!!!!

Dear ********

Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing

Application received by Citizenship on 11/02/2020.

I applied through Solicitor.

*********

I am directed by the minister for justice and equality to refer to your application for naturalisation.

Your application has now been initially assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing.

Your application is being processed with a view to to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions for the granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the minister for decision as expeditiously as possible as soon as our enquries are complete and all required documentation has been compiled.

In general, it takes approximately 6 months for a straightforward application to be processed bfrom the date it is received to the date a decision is made. However, the nature of the naturalisation process is such that for a broad range of reasons some cases will take longer than than others to process. It is a statutory requirement that, inter alia, applicants for naturalisation be of good character . In some instances that can be establiy relatively quickly and in other cases completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time . As a result, there will always be a proportion of cases that take longer than the norm to process.

If further documentation and/or clarification of any matter related to your application is required from you, we will write to you requesting it. Otherwise, you will receive a letter in due course informing you of the minister's decision on your application.

It would greatly assist us if you only contact is if it is absolutely necessary as this will allow us to devote the maximum time to the processing of applications.

Please quote your reference number **************** on all correspondence with thiss office.

Yours faithfully,

Citizenship-CMU 2

Thank you for your e-mail. Please be advised that applications for
naturalisation and general queries are currently being dealt with in
chronological order. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19
Pandemic and the attendant requirement to comply with public health
guidelines, significant delays are being experienced in general processing,
particularly those functions which require a staff presence in the office.
We are working very hard to maintain as prompt a service delivery as
possible, under the circumstances.
As you can appreciate, the primary responsibility of this office has to be
the welfare of the general public and the health and safety of staff
members. Your continued patience in this matter is appreciated. You should
also note that sending repeat emails on this matter simply adds to the
burden of staff and will inevitably delay a response to your particular
query.

I also asked for an eta on when the Tara Bot would give application status information and nothing. Just copy and paste

Email reply from citizenship to my solicitor for my children's application about not assigning reference numbers and receipt since they received the application in February 2020.

Dear Sir/Madam

Please be advised that applications for naturalisation and general queries
are currently being dealt with in chronological order. Due to the
restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 Pandemic and the attendant requirement
to comply with public health guidelines, significant delays are being
experienced in general processing, particularly those functions which

Unfortunately we are unable to give you a timeline as to when your client's
children's applications will be processed, but I can assure you the matter
will be dealt with as soon as circumstances allow.
As you can appreciate, the primary responsibility of this office has to be
the welfare of the general public and the health and safety of staff

Yeah and we wouldn't send emails if they finally released the Tara Bot for checking application status.

It's been under development and "we'll be available" soon since October I think. I work in tech. It doesn't take that long trust me

Got this this morning:

Thank you for your email.

Regarding your children's application, due to the restrictions imposed by
the COVID-19 Pandemic and the attendant requirement to comply with public
health guidelines, unprecedented delays are being experienced in the
issuing of acknowledgment receipts and the processing and return of
documentation. The vast bulk of Citizenship staff are remote working and
the verification of passports cannot be performed remotely due to data
protection concerns. During this period the focus of Citizenship is on the
general processing of applications. New applications are being dealt with
but at a much reduced level. Your continued patience in this matter is
appreciated.

This is when I had asked if my application has already been submitted to the minister or not?
Do you think I might be in the next lot?
