working Hours during placement year

HI,
I am currently pursuing my postgraduation from the UK on a TIer-4 General student visa. Currently, I am in my placement year for 12 months. But, it is an unpaid internship. Can I also do part-time work during the weekend? If yes, does part-time work has a limit to 20-hours?

Weren't you applying for ILR based on Tier 2 a year ago?

Yes, that's right I am asking on behalf of my son. As he currently on TIer-4 general student visa.

Please can you be more specific as to why it would have a restriction of 20 hours a week part-time while you are on placement year.
