Misspelled surname

Post by ssasi2020 » Mon Mar 01, 2021 6:09 pm

Hi

I got decision letter today. In the letter, my surname is misspelled. Will this reflect on my new BRP? Its just a typo or my misspelled surname has intered into my file. Many thanks.

How is anyone in the forum suppose to know. Wait till you get your brp and see and if there is an error, report it.

It is highly likely that if your surname is wrong on the visa letter it will be the same on your BRP. The name entry at the start of the application process follows the case on the systems. Rarely are letters populated by manual entry by caseworkers.

But it is wait and see....

Old brp, do i need to return it?

Post by ssasi2020 » Wed Mar 17, 2021 12:49 pm

I have seen few post regarding returning of old brp , if not there is potential £1000 fine.

Does this only applies to citizenship matters or our regular visa situation too?

I can't see anything on gov website nor my decision letter suggest anything on this matter, i don't know what to do?

I would really appreciate clarification on this . Thank you.
