Dear Gurus,
I am going to apply for my ILR next month under the 5 year Tier 2 General route. One of the requirements is to Prove my english language proficiency.
I have done my Bachelors degree in India and had got a NARIC certificate in 2016 then to prove equivalency. Can I use the same certificate for ILR now?
If not , is the new certificate to be gotten the "Visas and Nationality service (English proficiency)" from NARIC? Please advise. Many Thanks

Knowledge of life in the UK requirement for settlement as a Skilled Worker
SW 23.1 The applicant must meet the knowledge of Life in the UK requirement as set out in Appendix
KOL UK.
Knowledge of life in the UK
The applicant must meet the Knowledge of Life in the UK requirement as set out in Appendix
KOL UK.
They do not need to meet an English language requirement for settlement, as they will have met this in their previous Skilled Worker application.

Hi Vinny thanks so much for your reply. Could I just confirm this is the case even if I had met the requirement in 2016 using the older NARIC certificate (this was before the visa and nationality service was available).
My SOC is 2136 (software engineer) and I am working under a Shortage Occupation List (applying through qualifying company in 2017). Many thanks in advance

Hi all,
can anyone confirm if the NARIC ELA/SOC applied for in 2016 can be used for fulfilling English language requirements for ILR.
Vinny has very kindly quoted the guidance but it mentions "Skilled worker" visa. However my current visa is the Tier 2 general (since May-2016) and not Skilled worker visa. Many thanks in advance

Dear Immigration gurus,
I am posting my query in the same thread (on a different topic) to avoid creating multiple threads. Please let me know if I should create a separate post
I am soon eligible for ILR (mid april). Do I need to provide absence letter from employer for all five years? The first company I worked for went bankrupt in Jan 2017 and during this time I had taken a vacation trip for 9 days outside the country.
Does this have to be provided as a separate letter? Since the company is now defunct Its difficult to get a letter from them? Will this create an issue. Many thanks for your advice
