Hi, does anyone know the current submission timestamp that the FBR office where processing on December 26 2020 before they paused. I submitted all my documents in october 2019 and wondering whre i am as the 18 month timeline is almost upon us...

thanks :?:
Before the last lockdown they seemed to be processing numerous July 2019 and before, some August 2019 and 1-2 September 2019 I think. There were quite a few being overtaken in the timeline some by months.
So there didn't seem to be an exact date order.

I applied end of August 2019 and am still waiting - I have 2 siblings who applied in July 2019 and both have been granted FBR.

So I am 19 months since application and counting.
thanks for the info I will wait for the office to reopen and expect a further wait time!

It looks like people are receiving emails of approval to FBR? Does anyone know if they are processing the apps they have gotten? I know they are not accepting new ones, but I am hoping beyond hope they are processing the ones they have received. I know we have a long wait ahead, but the thought of the office being closed for so long has me so depressed!

Online application submitted 05 Nov 2020.
Email receipt from FBR of application packet 10 Dec 2020.

Hi! I can only speak for myself but my application was approved back in October 2020 (I was a June 2019) applicant and I have not yet received the certificate due to subsequent lockdowns. I did hear from them, but only to say my certificate was being mailed. Hoping this is the case! I am guessing the wait time is like 2 years at this point. Good luck to you!

Congrats!!! What a great feeling!

The office seems to be processing certain applications- I wonder if they’re slowly reopening? It would make sense since now that the Living with Covid roadmap has been altered there isn’t really a clear distinction between levels 3, 4 and 5- some of the restrictions that will be lifted on 12 April are in line with level 4 guidelines but there hasn’t been a clear announcement to state that they’ll be moving into level 4 which is frustrating.

Congrats!!!!...can't wait for mine but I'm thinking yours had been printed but just not mailed around the shutdown. Probably someone mailed off a few that were still in the offices. I figure it'll be a while still for me but since I won't be traveling anytime soomthat's okay

Same feelings here 🙂

I think the other posters application was approved and printed so some guy just posted it off.
We are not that lucky. Address was confirmed on 16th December and nothing since. Hopefully in May sometimes.

Thank you! I believe that someone is back in the offices, but the extent to which they are processing new applications or printing certificates is unknown. Hoping it picks up soon with the reopening!

Congrats!! Very happy for you. Hope the new passport system works well for you.
I sent a paper PP application in January. It's paused somewhere. Hope I see it by summer.

Best of luck to everyone waiting on FBR or passport applications.

Hey!

I've been a long time lurker on this forum but as the lockdowns begin to lift, I can see that hopefully my date will be soon! SO excited. I'm so worried that I'll have done something incorrect when the process my application it'll take longer! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

When they send the FBR certificate through, do they send the rest of the documents back at the same time? My brother is looking to apply for his FBR, but all our granpa's docs are with my application.
Many Thanks

Hello - does anyone have experience in accessing the FBR web chat these past days and weeks?
I gave up for a few months but can see some movement of FBR certificates from the updates on this board.
Would be good to know if anyone had success in communicating through the web chat, I submitted the FBR request for documents in December but I assume they arrived just as Ireland went into their December lock down, no acknowledgment, not follow up. So in limbo...... 31 months and counting?

How come you're at 31 months? I'm reading that right? Two and a half years? Seems like a ridiculously long time to have waited.

If I were you I wouldnt wait for them to be returned I would just order new replacement copies and send your brothers application ASAP

Hey -- So i ordered a birth certificate for my grandfather -- its from ireland, but just a scan of a handwritten document... scrolling through the history here it seems like maybe i need a 'long form' certificate... Is that true, or any tips?

The certificate i got and submitted looks like

That's exactly what I did when applying for my grandmothers birth certificate. It's legit, I sent it off to the FBR team and it was accepted. You're good to go.

That is exactly what mine looked like, so don't worry.
After I sent away for the new copy, I actually found an older copy which my grandparent had sent off for in the early 2000s, and it was a very well done handwritten copy of the original, I guess with the computerisation of records everything is just scanned these days.
The scan quality of my grandfather's birth certificate was absolutely terrible - even knowing what it said I struggled to make it out!
