Grace Period for visit visa holder

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the rules are for a very short over-stay of a visitors visa.

My Ghanaian wife came to the UK to visit me for the summer in 2020. Due to poor planning, she missed her flight which was on the last day of her visa. She flew out, back to Ghana, 5 days later, at her own expense.

Is there a grace period for people on visit visas ?

I have read a variety of different sources on this matter, including the Immigration Rules themselves, and have not been able to find a consistent answer.
