Citizenship application of Child

Post by sunnysakhi » Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:20 am

Dear Friends
My child born outside UK. He is 12 years Old.
Myeslf, my wife and child got ILR in 2018 December in Tier 2 General category.
Then I applied together for citizenship for all three of us in December 2020.
We got approval email for me and my wife on 15th April. But not for my child.
The application was online so it was Naturalisation for me and my wife but Registration for the child.
Can some senior memeber please advise why email confirmation was sent only for me and my wife and no communication about my sons application.
Some advise/suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Should be okay. Wait a bit longer.

Thanks Vinny. I will wait for some time. For the child under 18 years age, is his citizenship certificate sent directly to him instead of council. Then can child's Passport application go ahead without attending the ceremony as local council is not involved.
Is my understanding correct.

Correct - child's certificate comes by post (though sometimes it is given to the parents when they attend their ceremony) - children do not attend a ceremony. Passport can be applied for as soon as you have the certificate.
