Passport validation for visa extension

Hi everyone,

Two queries as I prepare for my visa extension application.


1. Does my passport needs to be valid for least 6 months when I make my visa extension application? I remember reading about it when I made the initial application but I am not sure if I should get that renewed before I make the visa extension application?

2. Can a UK born baby to tier 2 visa holders be registered as British citizen when one of the parents gets their ILR or both parents should get their ILR first before the baby can be registered as British?
