No, I applied from South Africa - They say that the waiting time is 5 - 10 days. But I received my visa after 3 days.

After hearing horrible stories about rejections, I am very relieved.

I had a Working Holiday Maker Visa 5 years ago, but I basically applied from scratch.

I did not use an agent, and therefore saved about 500 Pounds - If you do enough research, you can do it yourself.

Sorry, my time lines are:

Money paid: 29 Sep 2008 (In South Africa you have to pay your visa fees into their bank account before you apply).

Visa handed in: 30 Sep 2008. Handed the visa application information in by hand, and did all biometric information needed.

Visa approved: 3 Oct 2008. When I got home on Friday, I checked my visa status over the internet, and it said 'ready for collection'. It was approved.

The lady also told me your application is still waiting for allocation which might take couple of days more, so figer crossed.

I just wanted to share this information with you all.

Hi all,
Now the status of my application is seen on VFS web-site as follows -
"Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on 03 Oct 2008"
How much time it takes to receive documents and passport after this, any idea?

Hi Sep08T1Applicant & others,

I had applied in Tier 1 general program. Had applied in Pune office which is under Mumbai BHC.

My employer received the verification mail in the first week itself but they replied after 8 days which took 25 days (had they replied immediately probably this 25 days time could have been less :)

Anyways,
My application was simple and straightforward. I had secured 75 points in PBS.

Had also called up BHC to know the status and CC people were very polite and helpful to give correct status of my application.

Hope this helps all you guys waiting for their approvals..

Hi ITGUY_UK,

I spoke to them yesterday & they mentioned that my case has already been passed on to Case Worker. Now I applied on 5th of Sept & money detected from my account on 8th of Sept! Go Figure!! :? Now, I am not complaining, if indeed my application is with a Case Worker but all this is very confusing!!

No point on trying to guess what Home Office are upto, except we should just sit tight & hope for a positive outcome of our application.

And I trust that your application is a tier 1 and not a JR application. JR applications have a different timeline. Apologies but there are a lot of paranoid people here (including myself :) ) and the Home Office's way of working and their timelines only adds to our paranoia.

Regards OB40.

Any one applied from Hyderabad(India) in last week of august or first week of september??? Pls post if you have any updates...

I called BHC, Chennai today and got to know that still my application is in queue. I applied on 1-Sept-08.

Request everyone to mention place from where they applied while posting timelines. It is very confusing/misleading without place applied from.
