Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

Post by jman0warS » Sun May 09, 2021 9:16 am

Looking at the PDF form CTZ3 and it says you need to have 3 proofs of address for each year of residency claimed.
If you arrived in say June of 2019, can you claim 2019 as year 1, then 2020 as year 2 etc?

Or is a year calculated like this:
  • June 2019 through to June 2020 (Year 1).
  • June 2020 through to June 2021 (Year 2)

what you need is a proof of address like utility bills or bank statements that are issued in the specific years. Like you need 3 from 2019 dated bills or banks statement and another 3 from 2020 and so on....

I'm not asking WHAT can be used for proof of address, that information is already detailed in the form.
I'm asking HOW are the years of residence calculated.

If you are a non-EU citizen you need to submit the residency calculator. It will be based on your stamps in your passport and once you submit the dates of the current and your previous stamps it will give you a total days of residency and you'll know if you are eligible or not.

I can't tell you more than this for your HOW question.

hi guys,
my eufam permission was revoked in 2016 and ever since my case was with repatriation department for consideration whether to remove me or grant me permission to stay.finally they make the decision on 21 december 2020 to grant me stamp 1 without need for employment permit.

my question is if i apply for naturalisation can i argue that the department should take that time period into consideration .

I asked them this specific question and was told that it was calendar year rather than 12-month period - so if you are claiming naturalisation based on living in the country for five years from May 2016 to May 2021, you require proof of residence documents dated 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

(that was in answer to the original question. Sorry, didn''t spot that the thread had been hijacked)

Ditto. I also queried this and was told that I'd need documents dated from each of the calendar years I'd been here.

Dude. You are not a new user. You know the drills. Your question has absolutely zero relevance to the topic. Open your own thread.
