E vetting and citizenship application

Post by Dodi412 » Thu May 13, 2021 11:22 am

Hi

After applying for a JR as a result of long delay. I got E vetting from nationalisation department to sign it up.

I am wondering did anyone get the same? Any one know if this is a good sign they are in the late stage of processing?

I have been waiting for very long time and I’m really stressed :(

This is just a routine criminal background check, which means that the application is still in the processing.

Hey

There are 2 people that I have seen received the E-Vetting recently.

It seems to be a new system has been launched.

Let’s keep track and update each other about it on this page.

Perhaps I'm the other person you saw? I'm hoping it's a good sign. Better than nothing, at least. My application had not been looked at in 2 years.

Can you elaborate a bit please. Is it not that vetting is their internal process so what you are asked to do ? and did you receive an email or post ? Does it any way bring the application any closer to the finish line ?

Good news. Did you receive an email after signing up the E vetting or you just received your approval letter straight after 2 weeks? :)

I have the same/similar experience -- applied for FOI, got request for e-vetting as soon as FOI was done.

Quick question. How long does take for INIS to review the application and actually submit it to the National Vetting Bureau? (Step 3 in the process -- https://vetting.garda.ie/Application/About)

Below Response from EVetting office
When I asked I want to do EVetting my self ?

But before you can commence the online vetting application, the Irish Naturalisation Immigration Service would still need to gather your written consent to vet you.

They will give you an NVB 1 Invitation form to complete in writing. When you return that to them along with validation of identity documents, they will initiate the online vetting application.

The Irish Naturalisation Immigration Service, before now, had vetting applicants complete the entire vetting form manually on paper.

Please use the contact details that were in our previous reply to contact the Irish Naturalisation Immigration Service.

Yes, I got a tracking number and could see that the disclosure had been accessed after 2 days.

How long did it take you to receive that email after signing in the form and sending it back to the department?

Ok, what you need to do is -- 1) fill the form that you got from INIS and send it back to INIS by post; 2) wait till INIS receives your form, and processes it; 3) when 2 is done (it took one day in my case), you'll get an email from garda with application number (this number will be used as training number too); 4) the email will contain a link to fill another form on the garda website to complete the application
