Why are there so many visa rejections these days?

Post by mmssaa » Fri May 14, 2021 10:07 pm

Hi there,
1) I can see on the Recent decisions in the Dublin Visa Office for the visas are very high. Any particular reason for this?
2) Any idea where can I see the recent visa decision for the Irish visas applied for the UK? I can see on the following page the last updated date was October 2020 - https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/great- ... on-report/

Many many thanks in advance.

That’s a very vague question. Why are you interested in whether other people are granted or refused a visa?

The refusal rate is normal and is in line with previous refusal rate, if not lower.

One possible explanation that it seems higher is that previously there would be a lot of short visit/family visit/tourism related visas, which have a much higher success rate. With these no longer being issued during the pandemic, the rest will be purely for work, study and join family. They surely will have a higher refusal rate than short visits.

If you want to see London’s decisions, just ask them.

Isn't that obvious? A Type C visa simply requires proof of sufficient funds to cover a few days' trip, along with an itinerary that anyone can write within a few minutes.
Type D visas are much more complex and they will usually require verifications on their college, employer, level of English, academic qualifications, work experience, funds to cover a whole year etc.
