RENEW 5 years old OCI

Hello all,

Just have a question on OCI renewal for a child whose passport has been renewed in October 2020-

Do a child require to renew OCI considering the current situation?
Has anyone recently been through the same situation?

not sure if this helps, but below is text copied from HCIL website updated on 10 May 2021.

NEW RELAXED RULES ON RENEWAL OF OCI
It is now NOT required to renew the OCI card each time a new passport is
issued up to 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age.
Now, renewal is required only once when a new passport is issued after
completing 20 years of age.
