Unemployment while on unmarried partner visa

Hi,

I am on Tier2-ICT visa at the moment and currently in process of switching to the unmarried partner visa. The idea is to switch before my Tier2-ICT visa expires.
I wonder if and when I can quit my job if the application to the unmarried partner visa is successful. In other words, can I be unemployed after I switch and if so, then for how long?

By any chance do you know how far in advance shall I inform my current employer that I am going to switch to another visa type or does it depend on my company policy rather than immigration regulations?

Lastly, should I wish to stay employed with my current company after I switch and they wish to keep me what are the implications from HO perspective?

You are over thinking.

You need to inform your employer once you have your new brp so they can update their records. Your tier 2 ict visa gets cancelled when another visa is granted
