Skilled Worker Visa will reset previous years spent in UK

Post by Bhalajieee » Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:08 am

Hi,

I am in 8 years continuous residence in UK and eligible for ILR in 2023 based on 10-year long term continuous residency. Currently I am in student dependent visa. I got a job with sponsorship (Skilled worker Visa) and will be applying for visa soon. I just want to know if I move to Skilled worker Visa can I still be eligible for ILR based on 10-year long term residence in 2023 or I have to be with 5 years again in this Skilled worker Visa to get an ILR. someone told me that If I move to Skilled worker visa my continuous residence will be reset to 0.

Please advise.
