Homeless and GNIB card renewal

Post by hmp » Mon Jun 14, 2021 9:17 am

Hi Everyone,

In the past wasn't any problem to renew GNIB card as I could walk into Burgh office and get new one to hand. Unfortunately everything by post nowadays.
And I can't simply afford renting anything at this moment.
What is my options?
Thanks

Find cheaper place or someone who you can share with.
This is not an immigration matter.

Would address point from Anpost works or do I need physical address?

The Immigration Act 2004 9(2)e and (3) explicitly require that you inform INIS of any change in your address if you have not lived in your registered address for over a month. Once you inform INIS of this, they will let you know whether an Address Point is acceptable. I personally feel sorry for you but I can’t see it being accepted as it’s not your true residence.
