I am assuming you sent your documents via email directly to CW’s email address? That email address is the best way to chase it. However, note, standard processing time is 6 months and it would not be reasonable to chase too early. Even when you do, CW may or may not respond.

If need be later in the course (I hope not), you can write a cover letter also addressed to:

Tier 1 ILR
PO Box 3468
Sheffield
S3 8WA

Mention your Name, UAN, Nationality, DOB.

Dear Cullinan,

I am just asked out of curiosity. I paid for ILR on 14/12/2020 and biometrics taken on 11/1/2021. I think it is still too early, I guess I just have to wait patiently.

Thank you for your advice.

CW did not even acknowledge receipt of my email responses and there is no name stated at the end of the email. Is that usual?

Dear Cullinan,

I have good news. We just received an email from HO that both my wife and my application for ILR is successful. They will send me the BRP within 7 days. The "right to work" page has also changed status.

A million thanks to you for your effort and your advice.

Kind regards

Congratulations.. happy for your elder son! Hopefully your younger son will get it soon too. He possibly can write HO to chase his application if he wants. The standard service is 6 months though.

You may want to adhere to the residence requirements in case you plan to apply for British Citizenship after 1 year on ILR. No more than 90 days outside UK in last 1 year from the date of AN application and no more than 450 days outside UK in the last 5 years from the date of application.
If you want to discuss your Naturalisation application, please start a new topic in the British Citizenship forum.

Also, note you can not stay outside UK for more than 2 years consecutively on ILR. If you do, your ILR will lapse and will be cancelled. Longer continuous trips outside UK which may signal you are living or working outside UK is not advisable either.

Other than the above precautions, enjoy your ILR status.

Dear Cullinan,

Thank you for your advice.

May i know why all our BRP cards are valid until 31/12/2024? I thought it is indefinite.

What do you mean by "AN" application in your previous message?

Kind regards

Ben

That is the card expiry not your ILR status expiry, like driving license card expires. It will be updated automatically according to new technology then. You will not have to do anything. But obviously if you plan to Naturalise as British Citizen after a year, then it does not apply anyways

Adult Naturalisation

If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024
You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but you have leave to stay longer.

UKVI will update their information on how to update your BRP in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

11.My younger son received his BRP in the mail on 25/5/2021.

I waited for my younger son's ILR approval for quite some times, I think it was due to lockdown. When the lockdown was lifted on 17/5/2021, he received the email notification on the 18/5/2021. Refer to updated items 10 and 11.

Now the whole process is completed and i want to say thank you again for your effort and the willingness to share your expert knowledge to help us to get through this.

Kind regards

Ben
